9010 ?

Roger
I just installed a 9010 in the sump and I have a question. When I started the skimmer up water was coming out of a small hole in the rear of the unit. I was unaware of this and thankfully did not place the unit too close to the edge of the sump.

My question is what is its purpose, can I replumb so the output is below the water level (the tank is in a bedroom) to cut the noise down. Can I cover or block the hole up with some sort of plug.

Great unit, very compact.

Rich

PS thanks for sending out the missing cover with sliding cover.

When running in sump you can block this hole, I would buy a small rubber stopper at lowes or HD for this purpose, they usually have them in the screw bins. I would work with the water level and the sponge to help eliminate noise, there should be a very low flow and not much splash if it is hooked up correctly. I would not modify the plumbing as the plumbing has very exact requirements to work properly.
