9011 skimmer- micro bubbles

Hey Gang,...I'm going a bit nuts here.

It all started about 6 mnths ago when I ordered a 9011 skimmer online. The first one arrived completely smashed!!
The replacement arrived and it was intact,...except for one part!?!
The company sent a replacement part so I fixed it and installed the skimmer.
It has been running in my DT for about 4 wks now and the tank is constantly filled with micro bubbles!!!

I am at a loss,...it is skimming well, it seems, but the tank looks hazy all the time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx
Blaine

Hi Blaine,

Page 79 of the manual gives the following suggestions to fix the problem of releasing too many microbubbles. Please see if any of these apply and let me know:

Cause: Due to the oxygen oversaturation caused by
the activities of the algae, the skimmer appears to
be a bubble producer.
Remedy: Reduce the intake of aquarium water in such
a way that the air bubbles are no longer disturbing.
The skimmer will reduce the water exchange. This
bubble formation takes place primarily during the
running-in phase. (Please see the picture on page 40 for this.)

Cause: The Hydrofoamer has been mounted in
correctly.
Remedy: The outlet of the hydrofoamer must be
inserted into the jet pipe in the skimmer body.
Remove the housing and check the parts.

Cause: Wrong part on the cover 9010.300.
Remedy: If the sleeve used for the regulation of
the circulation is located on the cover in internal
operation, the water circulation system is 100
per cent open all the time. The bubble formation
cannot be set any more. Dismount the pump plate
and remove the sleeve for the regulation of the
circulation. Refer to the chapter on Operation in
cabinet filter - preparation.

Hey there,...thanx for the response.

I have taken the unit apart and made sure it is put together as well as I can and I have tried closing the front intake to varying degrees. If anything the bubbles have increased.

I purchased the skimmer new from J and L Aquatics about 6 mnths ago. The first one arrived and was damaged in shipping. I returned it and they sent a replacement and it also arrived damaged. This time they just sent a replacement for the part that was broken. I swapped the part out and put the skimmer together and it has now been running for about 4 wks.

I have no way of knowing if everything is working properly other than that the parts are all connected.
