90g anemone tank ideas

Well, due to a faulty heater I have been given almost a clean slate for my 90g. I recently rearranged my tank trying to battle an algae outbreak and after putting it back together the heater stuck on and the tank reached about 93F before I figured out the corals weren't ****ed because of the rescape.

Anyways, I have been toying with ideas of getting rid of it all together but I thought I might repurpose it into an anemone tank. As of right now I am only running 4x48" T5s with individual reflectors, pretty bright as is, but I am thinking about adding 2x250w MH or just swapping them out.

I would like to keep a few types of anemones including a carpet but don't have much experience. I do have a pair of B&W ORA misbar clowns that survived the heat but I was thinking about adding quite a few more both perc and occys. I am hoping that adding 6-10 more clowns at the same time will confuse the hell out of everyone and allow them to get along.

I would also like a tang or two but I am worried about the carpet snagging them.

Any advice on the subject?

I would not put several species in the same tank. However I am strongly considering several color variants of BTA in one tank. I currently have a red with a green butted right up against one another. This works well. Different species tend to kill each other whether they touch or just sense and nuke each other. Usually evidenced by one or more healthy nems and one that just wastes away for no apparent reason.

Thanks for the tips. I do have one island in my tank isolated from the left side and was hoping to keep the carpet separated to that side. Any chance that would work or am I just asking for trouble?

What type of "carpet" ?

In the past I tried to mix a Haddoni with both an LTA (( M. doreensis )) and (( at a different time )) an BTA (( E. quadricolor )), and in both cases the Haddoni wouldn't stay put, and just looked "off". After removing the other anemones the Haddoni stayed put and looked a lot better. So, I am not a fan of mixing species of anemones, color morphs of the same species is fine.

Yeah, it's your tank and you can do as you please with it, but most people do not report good long term success.
