911 rescue mantis OR why mantis are so tuff

This morning I found my mantis stuck in the overflow of my new refugium (30gallons) which I set up yesterday. You can see the front of the mantis in the picture. She could have been this way the whole night for all I know. I was sure she would be dead. I just pulled the tube off and pushed her through. She is perfectly healthy!! She had gushing water flowing over her, she was only partially submerged. THis is just more proof why mantis are the toughest animals in the reef.

really funny. i once heard of a mantis that some heartless reefer left in a dry bottle for a couple of day...it survived much longer than he thought.

holy cow! that is funny! Did you push her thru with your fingers? :D Where does that line go to? your tank or a return pump?

That is funny. Now if the front was not sticking out like it was and was in the pipe OUT OF SIGHT, you probably would not have found it :)

I wadded up a paper towel and pushed it through with a screwdriver. The hose returns to my sump. I think mantis have 10 lives. About 5 of those lives are lost on the dry liverock they travel 1000 miles on over to the US.
