93 Cube build

After a rocky start im back on track with my build. For starters this is taking place in a basement so my possabilities were endless. I wanted to create something that isnt seen every day. I will be using this as a livingroom were i can either watch tv or my beloved tank. There are still many thing in the air on what i want to do, so any input would be great.

To start i orderes a 30x30x24 (93 gal) cube tank from reef creation. Thanks Randy!
The tank will be drilled my myself with a glass holes 700gph kit. I will also be adding 2 more holes for my returns.

Not sure on a return pump yet. Was thinking of a rio 20hf pump. Im looking for something that can do my reutrn and carbon reactor. Im looking to run as little as possable as far as pumps go.

Next im not sure if im going to do a alge turf scrubber or a octo 110 or 150 skimmer? Tell me what you think. I have used both befor with great succes with both.

Flow will be obtained by a single mp10. Cant go wrong there!
Lighting will be made my myself using bridgelux leds. Im going to start with the 36 x 3w leds with a mix of white, blue and red. not sure on the mix yet. Im still doing some reading. This will also be dimmable to control the color of my liking.

Im sure im missing a few things so please leave your suggestions.

Nice build.. But looking at the last picture, it seems to be a tight fit to have lights and do maintenance above the tank..

Looks friggin sweet! I would end up watching a lot more tank than tv!

Is clearance going to be an issue? I know lights will be low profile of using LEDs. Aqua scraping and getting bigger rock in there could be challenging. It might be more clearance than it looks though. I love it.

Looks great.

My only thought would be to go with 2 MP10s instead of just 1. I have 2 of them on my 36" long tank and 1 would not be enough unless it was cranked up pretty high, which would be too much flow closer to the pump.

2 pumps running at 50% works out really well.

Or, a single MP40 might work well as they seem to create much more undertow than do the 10s. But I'm just speculating here.

Thanks for the input guys.... The good is going to have a flip up door put on the front. I have to cut the opening out of the drywall still. I'm hoping to have the stand and hood all finished this weekend. I'll keep everyone updated.

I lined it with melimean. It's used for bathrooms. It will just make things easyer to keep clean.

I'm a fan of the gl*******s overflow but, given a "blank slate" I would, without hesitation, go with a Herbie or Beananimal overflow if I had the chance. There's really no comparison, the herbie/bean are better in (almost) every way.

Agreed. I've used glass holes boxes on 2 tanks and herbie on a previous setup. No comparison. Bean's design is essentially a herbie, but modified slightly to be quieter and more fool proof/fail safe.

Thanks guys, I was thinking about something like this but space is limited behind the tank ( cement wall). With that being said I will not be able to access the back of the tank once it is filled with water. My last overflow was almost dead silent. I'll look it over again and see what will best fit my needs.

base is done except the doors. Now onto the hood. I have to find a pump and figure out my overflow so i can water test this weekend.

It was a busy weekend but i was able to get a little don tonight. I finished the hood and made my overflow box. It turned out good for my first time building one. Now i have a quick question. When drilling the tank how close togeather can u drill the holes?
