Hey all I have a buddy who has a green carpet anemone I believe it is a haddoni. He called me and asked if I knew much which i dont about them he has had his tank up for like 8 months and numbers all look right from what he said but it is not doing well he has had it for a while so curious if it is dying or just not happy? It has been in the sand by a rock has a mated pair of clarkiis in it and he said it has had its mouth open and started losing its stickiness in a couple of spots. Any help would greatly be appreciated would hate for this thing to die but need advice to help him save it. he runs pc lighting which it had done well under until now.

the mouth has only been open a couple times other times it is closed. It is still eating he said and still moves around a little could it just be trying to find a better position for itself? Sorry forgot to put that in was going through his texts figured this would be the best place to come for advice.

I don't think that PC lighting is going to be able to sustain a Haddoni. I would say a 6 bulb t5 could but not PC's as they don't really have the strength to get to the bottom of most tanks. Then again this could be a 12inch deep tank, Really need more info on the setup and params. before any viable advice can be given.

its a 24in deep tank the lighting is pc 96 w bulbs has 4 bulbs in it. params are all normal ammonia 0 nitrate and nitrite are 0 not sure on dkh and but slainity is 1.025 and ph is 8.1. I am just trying to help him out since it is a gorgeous creature.

Yea, 96w of power compacts isn't going to do anything at 24" down.... LED or MH is the option at that point.

It's probably trying to find a place with better lighting. Either that, or lower flow. Haddonis don't like to be blown around alot.
