It has been a busy week. My newest frag has been in intensive care for jaundice and feeding problems. However, I am proud to say that he has come through these and may actually be discharged on Sat. He now weighs about 4.5 lbs and is doing very well.
My wife and I are kind of use to this as both our children were premature. Our son was born at 26 weeks and weighed 1lb 12.5oz and our daughter at 30 weeks and 2 lb 5 oz.
I have had some issues with the tank and have lost a few corals. However, family comes first and the tank will recover. I will update sometime in the next week.
Jerry, thank you so much. Looks like he wont be discharged tomorrow because of a set back in his eating. Not serious, but they want to ensure he is eating consistently. This is all part of the development process of premies. He is still below 5 pounds, so it would not surprise me if he is there for a little while.
The neo unit is overwhelmed this year. Nurses don't know what happened but they have more little ones than in the past. They have 5 sets of twins in the unit. Guess we Ottawa folk are a fertile bunch. lol
For any of you who are following this thread, I just found out that Ward (Rockworm) passed away earlier this summer. He had been struggling with some serious medical issues for a number of years.
