A few of my SPS

What's the go with the sponge power stuff you said you dose in your recent TOTM article Greg. Do you think it's having a positive effect mate, any reason i shouldn't give it a try. :)
I feel terribly left out not having an eye dropper additive :sad2:

In my experience it helps the colored growth tips grow longer on some acros & clams like it too. Andrew I think you should try it and see what you think..

Well right after reading your TOTM article just after it was published i actually ordered said product since you and i share very similar and simple water keeping methods Greg. My inner thought process went like this:

Greg uses sponge power - i don't
Is Greg an SPS goofball - no
How many TOTM has he accepted - bloody TWO !
But he's Canadian - he's actually part aussie based on his SPS colors.
I think we are go for sponge power - yep.

It says to put a few drops in every day which sounds a bit labor intensive considering you have to squeeze the squishy bit twice each time, once to suck some up and then once more to administer the dose. I take it that's why you dose it twice a week ? How much do you add each time mate ?

Just because you suddenly say it doesn't make up for the lack of obvious disclosure previously Dan  it's sneaky dosing...........

I think it helps with filter feeders and support growth of sponges and bacterias . I always use sp no matter what with bacteria. I think its why i can keep gorgs and nps real easy. And you can see the crazy extensions on the yellow gorg..

That'd be the yellow gorg you won't tell us the name of would it be Dan........ secret sp dosing, nameless stunning gorgs....... anything else you want to get out there while you're on a roll Dan. :twitch:

You also need to shake your blue bottle well before administering drops :bum:

I love this product. I can see its positive effects (There are now lots of white sponges and feather duster worms in my tank and sump, which were not there before I had used it!).

Thanks Bulent :) How much do you dose and how often mate ?

I dose 3 drops daily (1 drop per 100l). Technically I am overdosing 0.5 drops per day, but Zeovit people said it was OK.

I have a bottle of spongepower. The size of any aptasia will double after a couple of doses. :D

The size of aiptasia definitely gets bigger, but unlike many reported, I did not observe any explosion in their population in my tank.

Me neither, but I don't try and kill them like I used too with some kind of juice. I will occasionally put an epoxy blanket down and smother a few and this has held the population down to 4 or 5 pesky ones.

I usually dose weekly what the SP instructions recommend for the daily dose. I find KZ tends to recommend much higher daily doses of their products than I feel comfortable administering. I would also recommend dosing Fauna Marin Color Elements weekly as well. I must be part Aussie because I dose the Color Elements into the over flow which then takes it directly to the sump (AKA -Down Under) to dilute into the system well before going to the displays.
Although I do dose the SP straight into the display (up top) which keeps me mostly Canuck.

Okay i am going to dose 1 drop a day instead of the recommended 5 that the directions say to add, thanks for the info on your dosing guys :)
Pretty sure we can't get the Fauna Marin stuff in Aus Greg :(

I may be wrong but personally I think you would be better off to dose once or twice per week in a manner that "spikes" the food levels.
