A few qusetions

Hi,

I've finish setting up a breeding tank (12G) for clowns.
The tank including hang on filter, a rock from my 55G tank sump, Caulerpa alage and a flwoer put - at the moment no lighting accept the house light.

Thats o.k for a breeding tank?

also I want to brimg small black perc, should I get 3 and let them choose or 2 will be fine?

what do you think is the min. time for them to start spawn?

Please don't bring in the third clown. One will likely be killed. Clowns will change sex to fit the pair. The larger one will become the female.

The 12g is fine for a breeding tank for percs. For pairing, I'd just go for two really good looking juvenile clowns and a lot of patience. Probably looking at around 1 1/2 to 2 years to get spawning from a pair you start out as juvies.

I will start looking for the clwons. only 2 as you said.

I've a pair in the DT that according to my LFS are breeding pair. they are in the DT for 3 months. it will be better to put them in the 12G tank and bring the 2 juvenile to the DT?

You'll likely get the breeding pair to start breeding much sooner than a pair of juvies, so I'd put them in the breeding tank and get started

the DT light went off so I will try catch them when I back from work.

in the breeding tank there is only a HOB filter, should I place a prizme ?
