A few random shots of my young tank

Just curious why you guys go through all the mod but not getting the ATI T5/LED combo?

Btw, very nice tank there. what kind of sump/fuge and skimmer do you use?

My original plan was to just run the LEDs. The T5 fixture was only 250 a few years ago with bulbs so I figured I got my money's worth out of the fixture.

Here is what I ended up with

I still have to tuck the wires you see on top inside but I'm happy with the look of it.

Your tank is looking awesome, nice job! You probably dont need to lower your lights much, I think 7-8 inches above the water is the sweet spot for T5's.

I also, added LED's to my ATI T5 fixture. I love it, and much less expense than buying the std hybrid model.

I'm in a similar boat as these guys. Picked up a cheap ati sunpower fixture and am running two bulbs on it with two kessil a350w's as well. It's kind of a trail run right now so I haven't torn it apart to add the kessils into the fixture, just in case it doesn't pan out I can still sell everything individually. Seems as if it's quite the trend lately.

Small update things are doing good had issues with bleaching with the new light but it's back on track now.. Added a avast kalk reactor that's already not keeping after 1 week so I still have to supplement 2 part although it's a lot less..

Clownfish guarding the biweekly clutch...

Red dragon, copps C. I. T. R. (really fast grower)

colonista Snail explosion.. Small video I have hundreds of them notice all the pods mid day too =)

I'll get some better coral shots and a Fts soon I had to wipe my phone so all my pics are on my computer.. I have a underwater case that took some pretty good pics for a phone..

Fts from today.. Just after lights turned on.. Haven't looked thru the other pics yet so these aren't very good. I so need a better camera =)..

Left side

Random acro I got from wip that was totally white.. Slow but steadily turning blue/purple..

Red star chilling out
II'll try to find some better pics and maybe I'll be looking for a nice dslr soon. I find it hard to spend $ on that when I can just buy more coral or equipment though lol..

Beautiful beautiful display! You need to be showing off this tank in the main SPS forum. Lots of people missing out. Not enough SPS build threads there. :D

Pics (and tank) look good. Spend your camera money on corals!

FTS are the hardest. So much contrast. My P&S camera does a much better job on FTS that my sorta nice DSLR.

What camera did you use?

Thanks for the compliments guys it makes me feel good that others enjoy it as much as I do.

@sahin I want to share it in the sps forum but I think I need to wait till it gets a little more grown in =).. I'm a lurker and give advice when I can but A lot of those tanks are what I aspire to be at and imo I'm not yet there on growth and color. Maybe in 8-12 months when I feel it's worthy =) .I have thought about it though but I want it to be really nice or spend the time to do a proper build thread as I have pictures from the beginning.. It's all time though..

@john I used my Samsung galaxy S4 phone.. My point and shoot is a pos I do have a nice HD camcorder but I think my phone is comparible honestly. Only thing the camcorder has is better settings especially white balance. I have a few good videos I just need to edit them.. I see some nice videos on here and YouTube and the show stoppers imo are edited nicely. One day I'll have time to do everything I want lol..

How do you get your s4 to take such nice pics? My note 2 takes good pics but with just the blue on on my led you can't see nothing, it's really irritating that I can't take a pic and have it look like what I'm looking at...have to invest in a Canon soon

The blue is not a color camera's are designed to handle. LEDs seem to be the worst. Maybe the tighter spectrum?

If you can do a manual white balance, you might have a chance.

As John said I adjust the white balance as much as I can I choose cloudy(Android limited options) for my tank.. And take multiple pics to get a few good ones.

That is amazing for a 105 gal tank. And lots of great growth! I am jealous...

What lights are you running in the past? How high is your tank?
What are you feeding man!?!

Granted, I just got my tank back up and running after my October move to Berkeley. ^_^

How much GFO do you use, and how often are you replacing it? What is your PO4 level at?

Thanks.

@zero Thanks man appreciate it =). I have been running ATI the whole time first a sunpower 6 bulb 36" and now a powermodule 48" 8 bulb. Feeding is a crap shoot I feed super heavy mostly my homemade food and some either nls pellets, formula 1 flake or spiraling flake or straight mysis..I not on any schedule will broadcast feed reef roads and coral frenzy Prob 1-2 x a week.

I feed usually at least 2x a day sometimes 3-4 smaller ( but still a decent amount) and it's not uncommon to do all the above on any given day. I have cut the amount recently since I sold the naso to a friend with a huge tank but the frequency is still the same.

@sahin my p04 is anywhere from. 03 (rarely)to. 08. I run almost a cup in my mr1 reactor and swap it out when it's exhausted. I have an easy way to divert the flow from my reactor in my side panel to test. At least a month so far on avg..

I haven't had good luck with color running it lower like most do my old tank was high always =.1 or a little higher and for instance my tricolor valida was solid deep purple.. Now it's a its got a whitish tan body with purple tips.. But for what it's worth it is an Ora and from what I've seen this is what they usually look like so I might be crazy ha ha.

Im still trying to find the best median for everything but I'm shooting for under.1 basically. That may change to lower/higher later but for now that is the goal. Keeping nitrates above 10 also but not too high controlled with vinegar manually for now but I'm building a doser for it to have it run on my reef angel..
I try to not chase numbers at all but keep in a zone vs hard point if that makes sense..

Wow man thanks very much for taking the time to write all that. I really appreciate it.

Can you give a list of the ingredients in your home made food?

Many thanks again.
