A Home for Ryan's 240?

Ok looked it up its the pump like I thought. Slide me some pics and give me the specs and Ill give ya a yea or nay.

Whats it chambered in Winchester or Remington? .270 would suit me just fine. Wife might have a problem with it but we can work around that lol...They replaced that gun with the 7600. Not comparable anymore.
They ruined it after the switch.
Ive always bought Remington. Best bang for the buck no pun intended. My family bought me and my wife stock in Remington for a wedding present believe it or not lol..Good redneck wedding present right there lol..

Ya, it's a Gamemaster (I also have it's little cousin on .22 but that will never leave my possession with me breathing). I bought the rifle from a friend in a club I used to belong to. His son wanted a gun to hunt PA. deer with so he bought it new for him. The kid shot it 4 times to sight it in at 150 yds. and once more to kill a deer. I got the gun, scope rings, sling hardware, and the remaining 45 bullets from the box for a Horton Crossbow and 6 bolts I bought at a garage sale a week earlier for $50. I put on a Burris 4x12 and shot it 10 times and zero'd it to 200. The gun has virtually no wear and all but not scratches or dings and the bluing is 99.5%. i killed a bear in Ontario with 1 shot, a deer in WV. with 1 shot and a groundhog in my backyard wit one shot. That's all its been shot and was stripped, cleaned and oiled after every use plus stored in a safe the entire time. It' never seen rain or snow either. I don't have any pictures but I'll take a few tonite. BTW, I also have 3 clips and a few boxes of 150 gr. Core Lok in .270 Win. It really is a fine gun and I've kept it only for that fact because I don't hunt with a rifle anywhere.

I've had a couple runins with dirtbags, thugs, and losers over the years butn only one got violent. I don't typically speak of it but I happened upon 2 men (ehem) attempting to rob, beat, and sexually assault a young lady in a mall parking lot. The "look-out" saw me as I saw him (heard the girl scream) and I got out my cell (ya the old gigantic flip phone) and dialed the sheriff (knew it by heart because of a psycho ex-girlfriend) as I ran to my truck for the ball bat I kept behind the seat. I was freaked about what to do but the girl screamed again and I just went into that instinctive mode. To cut to the chase, I was cuffed and stuffed and the 2 assailents were badly beaten and immobile. Aparently one shot to the back of the skull did the "look-out" in and the other guy (pants around his ankles) never new what hit him. The girl was totally mental (as you'd expect) but he didn't have enough time to legally assault her sexually. I was taken to the jail for "questioning" and the others weht to hospital. Luckily a buddy of mine who had just joined the department heard my name on the radio and saved me from some inconvenience. Less than 2 hrs. later the girl and her father actually came to the Sheriffs office because they heard I was taken away. She was bawling and screaming that I saved her life and did nothing wrong. Luckily neither of the animals died and I was never arrested or charged with a thing. Not 2 months later one of them was shot and killed in a drug related incident. The other went to prison for 2-1/2 years.

I had another isue with a guy sticking a .25 in my side at bar (my local bar, full of my rowdy friends) and told me to give him my wallet. I always keep my cash in my front pocket when out anywhere so my response was a smartass one. I said "first, I don't have a single dollar in my wallet, and I also doubt you'll want to die withan empty wallet in your hands". As I spoke that loudly one of my larger buddies just happened to be walking up behind us both. He caught on and just stood there. The guy walked out and was caught about 30 min. later by the State Cops. Another was when a certain ethnic man in hi smid 30's approached me in a parking lot when I was waiting for my wife in the grocery. I saw him looking around and thought he was trying car door handles up and down the rows. when he saw me he came straight over and met my Ruger P90 in .45 ACP at about 18 inches. I just asked him if it was his day to meet God... Glad I was packin' that day or I'd have either got shot or had to beat the piece of crap to death for pulling a knife on me.

Sounds good. Hasnt killed anyone has it? Have to ask lol... I know the .270 is a flat long shot perfect for big game.
I sold off my 30-.06 about 5 years ago been shot gunning it every since. Got a 1100 I bust tail with pretty happy with it.

I havent bought another rifle since. I got an old henry .22 we plunk with and a marlin 30-30 lever for fun shootin. Keep a TC .50 for the black powder and my Kentucky long rifle .54 cal Traditions on the wall for conversation piece. My Colt .45 in SS a ruger .25 for the ankle, A Lady Smith for the wife, Grand dads Hump back in silicone slider sleave for the future grandson and that pretty much concludes my arsenal.
How would you ship this thing? Or being that its a private sale can you UPS it?

It's a killer but no humans...yet! :) I've basically gone all the way back to recurve for big game and shotgun for birds/fowl and .22 or .17 for varmints. I have not used the rifle since Aug. 96 when I shot a black bear between his eyes.

I love the bow. Its my preffered season and way of handing out death.
More skill involved. Ill get back into it again. I didnt even hunt last year. We were too busy here at work to take the time off. I opt for a big out of state hunt anymore. I could go back to MI and hunt my dads property or my family in the upper penn. of MI near Wisconsin. I just want a bigger animal. Looking at ELK or Caribou, Mule or something along those lines. SOmething Ive never hunted before.
Ive hunted black bear, white tail, turkey, most of the water fowl birds, and now Boar. Not much left I havent killed on the eastern half of the country. If you want a hand fed private hunt there here but thats not hunting. Your just buying the kill. Yippee skippy. You should be real proud of that. More less lead the animal out of the stall and tie it to a stump and you come pay your money and pop it mount it and tell stories of how it was a tooth and nail do or die situation lol...
Like to go do as gator hunt (legally) one time. I want those boots lol..
I got an open invitation for coon hunting if you wanna risk a moccasin bite in the dark trudging thru the swamps after a hound dog. I dont see that anytime soon. I never really saw the sport in that. Cant eat it, its no real hunt the dog finds it and you shoot it out of the tree what the point?
I dont shoot what i dont eat so all I see is its a waste of a good walk and a bullet.
I been doin the offshore fishing more so than anything. Probably goin on another 32 hr out of Clearwater in Oct. again. Love that. I call it the grub run. You come back stinkin like a **** house door on a tuna boat hung over and weather whipped like a rag doll lol...I eat fish for months after though well worth the money in good times. Still eating fish i caught last time I went in
May.

I agree. I don't have time or money to hunt like I want to but the more boring part of life is more important to take care of. I get to spend a few evenings and weekend mornings bowhunting and that's fine by me as long as I don't have to deal with any humans during that time. I work very hard and very long hrs. for little more than pennies in an attempt to keep this company going. It's a pride thing and an unwillingness to help a stuff shirt pay his country club dues. Most people would think I'm stupid for holding on as I have but nothing in my life has actually come easy so the grind is all I know. I used to fish alot too, now it cuts into my sleep time so it almost never happens. An Alaska Archery Moose hunt is my dream. Will never happen but it's a good dream to have and keeps me smiling.

PM me you e-mail becaus I don't want to post pix of a gun here.

Stacker man, Be taking that piece off your hands. Man what a weekend! Whoo Hooo. Thats all I got to say about that.

Just woke up from a 4 day stupor lol..Lets just say I saw Jesus. Know really. He was swirling around in my corn flakes this morning shaking his pointer at me telling me to ease off the throttle lol.. Yea it was like that I swear. I think someone slipped me a mickey lol.

Im back on the saddle again however. Monitor seems extra bright to look at today. I tossed around the Remmy abit in my head I suppose Ill have to have it. Name your method of payment and Ill make good. I gotta go back and lay down some now Ill see if I can stand to look at this machine agian later on toniught. Just checking in to see if I was wanted or did somethign haneous I dont know about. Im bloated like a stuffed hog and tongue feels like a I licked , well I leave it at that............

I have a nice relaxing weekend. Labored all day Monday ikn the yard, working on closing the pool, etc etc. Have a screwdriver or Bloody Mary, they'll set ya straight. Just one tho! :)

You tell me about payment. 2 Day garanteed shipping is $30 insured at $500 and next afternoon is $45. I'll have to ship ammo separate via ground so total cost to ship will be about 50 clams Fedex or UPS. Any perference? I'll also be shipping in a hard case VERY well packed. Paypal is sweet but they bang me for a few percent for the convenience. NBD, a check is cool but I have to make sure it clears before shipping. Western union costs you a few bucks so that sux, cashiers checks are cool too. REally makes no difference. You could always blow off 4 days and drive up, hang out , and drive back hungover! :) :) :) prolly lighter on ammo too from test firing! LOL

My buddy was ****ed when I told him I was letting the rifle go. Now he thinks I've given up on Elk hunting! What a fool he is! I told him I'd just take my recurve and still have a better chance than him! (he's not much of a woodsman once he gets off the path)... LOL

Hey get this our Co. is looking for a big piggie cooker. Seems as our less than sufficient planning commitee is planning to have a co. Picnic were as we will be roasting you guessed it hog.

Theme is Luau. We pay about $750 to cook meat supplied by the cook. Its getting in the owners pocket too deep and he wants to buy a dedicated cooker for the business so we can do the cooking ourselves instead of pay someone else.

I mentioned this cat in Ohio who builds to order. I might be sending you some prints lol... It this Sun. Only be 92 with 90% humidity perfect lol...

We camped over the weekend and ran quads like teenagers hell bent for election.... Last min. thing We ran about 1.5 hr. South and stayed and a KOA right by a sweet Quad/dirtbike place. Drank 3 cases of beer, 6 bittles of wine and a 750 of Absolut. Ate Filet and baked taters cooked over the fire Fri. slammed down bacon and eggs for breakfast on Sat. then rode all day. Made hobo pies for supper (ham/cheese, pizza, blueberry, apple) and drank till we passed out. Listened to the Buckeyes Beat-up on Texas on AM radio then came home Sun. AM. Big fun! I'm sore all over for hammering the Warrior for hrs... I did get to take a short blast on a 700 Raptor too (Good Lord! That is a spooky fast quad).

Keep in mind that my dual fuel (wood and or propane) cookers start at about $2500 for CRS externals and 304 SS internals on a single axle trailer. Delivery will be exact fuel cost and a meal or 2. I'd expect a beer bash at your place too! LOL

The pix I posted earlier were a propane only single unit ($2500), and propane + smoker single unit ($3500), and a monster propane + smoker (double sided, double axle) unit ($8500). Everyhting that touches food is SS, an enclosed rotisserie capable of handling up to 180 lb. of meat is again dual fuel, single axle, and about $3000. I'd like to find someone willing to make and all stainless combo (cooker, smoker, and rotosserie) that would be sweet! I'd have trouble giving it up prolly!

Sloooow down there Mr. Exicitment! lol...I see my $400 went for letting the good times roll proper lol....
All well and good for the cooker. I doubt this place would opt for any dual fuel/SS fancy meat machine but Ill pass it along to the purse holders.

I could set ya up in fine digs and for the trouble make a run out to the hell hole we call Holopaw for the filthiest 4 x 4 grind you ever saw this far south of the mason dixson.
I nearly tore out the front axle on my Ford last summer hitting what lookedlike a shallow mud hole at about 35 MPh lol. SOme of those holes look so docile yet a Laviathin lay beneath waiting as I found out lol...
Only cost me $1500 in damage and a tow rope back home. Needless to say It was all worth it in good times. I got air once too out there lol...Your basic free for all out there I love it.

Just about to break lose down here for some outdoor fun with the heat turning down a smidge cant wait.
Next month Hunting season starts too. I bought a lab pup (yellow dog)! Hes gonna get his paws wet this weekend. Cute little bugger.

I wasn't implying tha the tight wads you work for would spring for a totally tricked out cooker, I'm just dreamin'... The whole weekend cost me $164 out of pocket (including gas). Cheap but fun you can't buy for 10 times that much... I have friends in Florduh I'd love to pop in to see, the lame bastiges won't travel up here so I'll have to come south with a few large cans of WhoopA$$... LOL

We have 3 hoo haw 4x4 places withing 20 min. of here but that's really not much fun for me. I've trashed a few trucks but I like bikes and quads for the freedom and acceleration even a nitrous huffing monster can't touch. Just one of those things I guess.

The Remmy will turn into future reeftank upgrades after somebills are paid. Immediately the cash will help pay my next quarter insurance premuim. It sux being a grown-up! LOL

Here's my girl... She just turned 3 and is finally settling down (kinda)

Pic17.jpg

Yer pooch looks good agains tthe wood grain background lol...
Nice contrast.
Who knows what this place will do. THey tend not to go beyond Atlanta for anything they buy including machinery. Its either the good ole boy network or the lazy folks calling the shots dont wanna travel. Sad part is they never considered just building one here in our 103,000 sq foot building. This place is an airplane hanger for cripe sakes with everything from multi-axis CNC machines and robotic welders and plasma cutters 3 -100 ton breaks, and more than enough equipment to make the best kick a$$ BBQ you could ever want. Not to mention we have our own controls dept. and electrical engineers to make the thing dance and do a jig.

Yet they look elsewhere for something. Amazing isnt it. We could slap a VFD Baldor motor on it and a gear reducer we have in stock chain drive, belt drive, whatever. But...Its like they say stupid is as stupid does.
They rather pay Hobo joe to haul in his propane tank conversion cooker on U.S. Baldys to cook the meat.
Go figure. Oh well. Ill get pizza and bring it with me in protest lol...

LOL I know the story. I have customers who bust my sac over a $60 template then spend $100,000.00 on a machine that sits for months unused. The lefthand has no clue what the right hand is doing. I'm trying to conjure a way to design and build some automation tooling and process equipment for under $10 grand each. They have levels of spending approval at $5K, $10K, $50K, and $100K but they don't buy D&B over $50 period and it's hard to get them at 50 even. Eventually I get one tech project and I'll finally get the respect I've been killing myself for with one of the VP's and I can finally float a few ideas I have. If not I may approach their competition with my ideas...

I have a shot at quoting a big company picnic for the last week of Sept. So far I'll have about $4,000 in meat, salads, fruit, and desserts. If I bid it too low I won't make and $$ but if I bid too high some a$$ will get ti and serve cheap- crappy hamburgers and hotdogs when I plan to serve MY burgers, pulled pork, and chicken quarters. We'll see. If I get it I'll have to shoot a new coat of black on the grille and be ready to cook for about 500. Could be an interesting day or 3....
