A little bit of a tank update.

I do not dose the big 3 as I have a calcuim reactor on it. At the moment only dosing iodine and trying out the easy reef SPS EVO food which is a plankton mix. the Evo food I am dosing minimally as it is new and seeing if I see any differences.

Try acropower Richard it's help with accelerate growth.

Richard how did you go about removing your metals. When I get water in my tank I just wanna nip it in the bud before it gets outta control

Funny you mentioned that I was considering that option or trying to put on. Kalkwaser set up

two little fishes meta zorb. I will now use this with any new set up especially if it is started with dry rock.

Thank looks amazing. Are you running MH or LEDs? By the way the hammers is huge it’s takes up a big chunk of my tank. Good thing I’ll be upgrading to a bigger tank soon.

Thank you Mario,

I am running Gieseman Aurora Fixtures hybrid T-5 led. I love the dimmable T-5 but I do think the LEDs could pack a bigger punch.
Glad you like the hammer when you get a bigger tank I will get you a bigger piece. it grows like a weed for me.

Hmm I’ll have to look into that hybrid fixtures when I get a larger reef tank. For now I’ll be sticking with a 40g tank. I think I’m good for now if it grows as fast as if does for you I’ll be having to drag soon.

Good to see some RC old timers are still here posting pics of their tanks.
Looking forward to it.
You should do a updated equipment list.

Great Idea David.

I now have a 3rd Giesmann Aurora light added as this has been on a while. I moved my Tunze 6255 and added 2 Octopulse 4s. added 2 maxspect gyre 350's and all powered by the HYDROS Wave Engine. This Wave engine made it easier to control all 4 pumps with one power supply.
The Sump area in my garage changed more then the tank. now using 2 KLIR 7 inch fleece filters. upgraded the Bubble king super marin to a Reef Octopus Regal 300INT. the BK skimmer pump broke and was such a hassle getting a warranty on it it was not worth having. I honestly feel the Regal skimmer worked better and was a much better value.
I added a Alkatronic Alkalinity Monitor to my Apex and then walked away from the APEX. Now running complete HYDROS Control set up. I am using a Control 4 and control 2 to run everything. ATO, KLIR and removed more plugs and controllers by doing this as well. The HYDROS is so much better for me and working flawless.
I Have added a 60 gallon cube to the garage that is now connected to the same system using a ETM XR15 Pro to light up the frag tank. This is working good so far.
The Corals have grown so much and using the Reef Octopus calcuim reactor is so much easier to use and less complicated then the Pacific sun Cal reactor it also has not broke yet either. I had a little issue with my DYI regulator but just replacing the Needle valve fix it.
We will see what I change next as it could be the lights again.

Awesome tank - everything seems to be growing well. I also made the switch to hydros controller and alkatronic - no more messing with apex fusion that kept giving me issues. So far so good with hydros.

You got some good growth now.

Glad you guys like the Hydros. I was lucky enough to be asked to beta test it and have had one a pretty long time.
I have several right now and several Wave Engines. They run nice in a collective now.
Let me tell you there are some good things coming down the pipe for it. They keep sending us new stuff to test.

Overall things are doing very well. Growth and Color I am very pleased with. My Rock looked much better a few years ago thou. Now some algae growth and Cyno lingering around. This is my biggest challenge presently. I want my rock to look better. A few months ago I add a bunch of snails and crabs and it is slowly bringing it back in the right direction but I think I need more.

Sweet Richard. Keep me in mind if you ever frag that blue chalice with the green eyes. Maybe I'll just wet pocket a frag when I come over next time.
