a little confused.......prices and LS

As I need to purchase about 100lbs more of LS for my 210g I have noticed that LS gets really cheap if you buy it by the 40lb bag. I was going to buy dead sand for a $1 per lbs, but the 40lb bag of live sand only costs .87 per pound.

was I the only person in the dark about this?

Just go out and buy the cheaper .87 per pound live sand.

Well I'll been looking for a long time for good sand (DRY)
I think I found a place that has it.
Sugar-size.
10lbs for $5.99
20lbs for $16.99 better stuff, maybe??
I'm going to check it out this weekend and buy.
I don't want to go cheap on this item, to important.

haha, its not exactly the most complicated thing. Live sand comes with water in there, so you won't be getting as much as if you just got 40lbs of dead sand.

I wasn't being grumpy about it at all. I was stating that you should go with the live sand since it's cheaper than the dry sand. It was unclear if your statement on the dry vs live sand was intended to be a question, so I answered the only question in the original post, which was if you were the only one left in the dark.

In all honesty, there are places that sell 50lb dry sacks of aragonite sand sizes from A1-A5 for $35. Places that come to mind is Carson Tropical in Hawaiian Gardens and Strictly Fish in Long Beach. That was the route I went and purchased from Carson Tropical.

Why not jsut get it at marinedepot? It's only $25 for 40 lb bag of dry sand.

Strictly Fish and Carson Tropical are on the same street 5 mins from each other so you might want to go to both stores. Look for the white sacks labeled A1 - A5. A1 being the smallest grain (sugar sized)
