A nice article on coral myths...

Most hobbies seem to have a lot of pervasive myths. The only way to be prevent and/or dispel them is with education. Since that's the goal of the club I thought this was a good article for it's members.

I've been out of the saltwater hobby for many years, but recently I've got my interest back. I started surfing the forums to see what the trends and current thoughts are. In doing so I began to suspect that, as with many things in life, the common thought is not always the correct one.

I'm sure many people already know what this article is pointing out. However, from what I've read on the forums, the average reef keeper may not. Either way it's good food for thought and certainly an excellent article to point beginners to.

No problem, I know it helped me as I'm basically a newbie. I had salt setups years ago and freshwater since, so all the info is a bit overwhelming. I think a lot of experience reefers would benefit as well since they may have learned all the "standard" ideas about coral types and care.

That site has many other great articles if you look at the index.

As does this one: http://www.reefkeeping.com/index.htm

I think that's basically a partner site to RC right? Lots of good stuff there.
