A. perideraion (pink skunk)

I've been wanting to add pink skunks to my collection for a while and today I decided to purchase a pair.

The pair I decided on is said to be a rare color morph direct from Fiji that is much more intense than the normal 'pink' coloration. (Hopefully their brilliant color will not fade)

Are these really special?
Does anyone else have pink skunks with orange coloration?

I will not take possession of them until next week but here is a photo provided by the seller.

I've had and seen many, but those do appear to be pretty bright and more orange looking at that pic.
I loved the skunks I had, seemed more friendly/passive than all other clowns I've had.
My only issue was that they kinda got lost as my nems didn't provide much contrast in color, so maybe keep that in mind when picking host.

My pink skunks were cool until they started the mating ritual. They started taking nips out of the fins of my latezonatus clowns so they had to go.

I suppose those clowns are a rare morph because they certainly don't look like that normally and I tend to think Walt Smith wouldn't push an artificially colored fish.
They will make a nice addition for you! Good purchase.

They've been in QT for over a week now and are doing great. They're not as bright orange as the photo above but they're beautiful!

Very nice looking pair you have there Doni, have been waiting for you to get yours.

Really seems like they have more of an orange tint then all the others I have seen, and for more then my pair. Hopefully yours will be as vocal as mine, it is really neat to hear.

I had a pair for a while and really liked them. Mine were CB and more of a soft peachy color. They chirped a lot at each other, especially during dominance displays; it was really cute.

Heck, mine will also do it when I am too close to the tank for too long -- guess they think I am ugly. ;)

LOL! They chirp? I can't wait to hear it!

I can tell already that they will have great personalities and they will eat anything I feed them. HUGE appetites.

Thanks Todd for the inspiration. They are even nicer in person than I was hoping. Heck, my husband even likes them! I think I'll name the male, Todd. :D
....and if they really chirp... the female could be Tweety. LOL

Thanks, like having a fish named after me. :)

But, they do really "chip" "bark" --- for mine their whole body shakes when they do it. The longer I have had them the more vocal they have gotten. Really think you are going to love them.

Thats pretty neat, I was not aware that they barked or chirped. Now to try and find a sound file of that.

I THINK that my new phone can record video/sound, if I can figure out how to do that, I will attempt to record mine making that sound.

It has been my experience that the color form your fish are often comes out of Fiji and Tonga. However, I have seen pics of these clowns from the great barrier reef that carry a similiar coloration as well. Usually the orange ones go for quite a bit more than regular pinks despite being the same species. I have seen pairs for sale on line for $200 and more. That being said, I have recieved a few orange ones like yours from bluezoo aquatics for normal pink skunk prices. This stands to reason because to my understanding a lot of their orders come out of Fiji. All that aside, that is a beautiful pair of clowns and I hope they do well for ya!

I've got a pair of pink skunks in a H. crispa and they are really pinkish. A friend recently gave me an orange version that was called an orange skunk, but I notice from my id guide that the named orange skunk has no stripe. He got it for regular pink prices also. It is cool, even has a birthmark on its mouth.
