A pic of my 75 g today 1 year details.

tank looks great tony

how do your yellow tang and naso get along ?

I want to put a small naso in my 135 but have heard it may outgrow the tank too quicky. How long have you had yours in the 75 ?

Mine has been in there a little over 1 year, he has not grown that much. I am sure if he were in a much bigger tank or the ocean he would have grown alot more, but the size of their containment has something to do with the way they grow. The naso and yellow get along fine, they play tug of war with the seaweed when they pull it off the seaweeed clip.

I just got stain from the company that supplys Oceanic with their stain. So now I will stain my new canopy to match my stand, then I will add MH. I will go with two 175watt MH and keep my two VHO actnics. I got 2 XM 10,000 mh. I still need to get the ballasts. I think I should have the staining and lights done by July. I am excited to have the new canopy so I have the two front access doors , rather then just lifting the canopy lid.

Sounds great, I can't wait to see it. How about a new full tank picture for us, the first is a long time to go without a new picture!

Here are some pics from my tank today.

No syphing. I do not do anything to the sand bed , it stays very clean, I have snails, 1 sand sifting star, and alot of water movement.

I see. What types of snails...I'm thinking ceriths and nassarius vibex would work well. What do you use?

Ah, I forgot to say it. Very nice tank, as usual! I was in awe, that's why I didn't say it, duh

I have alot of differant kind of snails, dont remember all of them. But I think I have both of the ones you mentioned.

Thanks RJ
I stained my new canopy today, now I have three coats of polyuerothane to apply to it. Then I just need to get the ballasts and I am ready for the lighting upgrade.

What size is your Naso Tang? I want to put one in my 75.
My apologies, as this is totally off-topic, but I noticed you live in Marietta--and you're in the same grade as me. Pretty cool. :) What school do you attend?

wow, great tank, i just read all 18 pages of it. your monti cap has grown a ton. definately inspiring, i was debating between a 125 and a 75 (i know, rather large size difference) but after seeing your tank i think im going to go with the 75, you have a great aquascape and amazing corals for just the vho. cant wait to see the mh combo

I have just lost two corals, an acro and my pink birds nest, they died rapidly in 2 days, 1st the acro, then birds nest that was right next to it. Everything else doing great. I think I will place clams in their spots when I get my new MH lights, I am just waiting for my ballast to arrive.
I saw my Yellow watchman today for the first time since January, I thought he died. Was so nice to see him, he made his home in the back of the tank.

I'm sorry about your unfortunate loss, Tony. Sounds like RTN to me, which would help to explain the two coral deaths in close proximity to each other (not uncommon with this condition). Best of luck to you, and congrats on finding your YWG. They have great personalities once they gain confidence. :)
