A pic of my 75 g today 1 year details.

What isnt expensive, they are $65 each? I ordered them from Phishy Business , I have always had excellent service from them.

Hi rj
The clams arrive today.
So I will try to get some pics as I acclimate them, them maybe tommorow I can get some pics of them in the tank.

Here are pics of my Croceas in acclimate container, these pics were taken as soon as I took them out of the shipping bags and put them in the acclimate container.

This morning they are still in place, and opening really nicely.
And my CO2 tank went empty last night, this is the first time I have had to fill it since I have been using calcium reactor , I think it is close to 1 year.

Thanks
They are green with no lights on, they are more blue with the lights on, the last one of the pics is really colorful when he is open, green, with tan inside with spots of aqua blue in the tan, he is definately my favorit, the only way I can get a pic to show his colors would be straight down, and that is a bit hard to do with my tank.

tonym10,

Great tank I have read through all of 19 pages and very informative and great pictures. I have a 90 gallon tank and have really been learning a lot. Due to time and money constraints I have been trying to slow build up my tank. Looking at yours and others are great inspiration. I noticed you have 2 1/2" sea swirls. How do you like those. I currently have 2 power heads but they are pretty bulky and I would love not to have any equiptment in eyes view. How do you like them ? I have an acrylic tank, with cut outs in the middle part of the top, it does not have an edge to mount them. How are yours mounted ? Do you have any close up pics giving me a better idea or how you hooked them up. Also how many gallons pre hour is ur return pump rated at. I currently have a rio 2500, and I am ording a mag 9.5, is that enough pressure and flow to create the same effect ? Also are 2 enough ? or would you recommend more ?

Thanks for the help

tonym10,

Great clams! Phishy has some pretty nice stuff. That's were I got my LR.

What are the steps of your acclimation process?

Dr.
Phishy is great to do business with.
My acclimation was pretty fast with these guys. I am starting to think that the longer things stay in stale shipping water maybe isnt that good. The water temp and SG was the exact same as my tank but the PH was like 6.5 so I added an equal part of my tank water to the clam water , let them sit in there about 15mins, then did a 50% water change, added tank water back to it for 10 mins, then they went in the tank. If the SG were farther off I would have done it slower. But I figure the PH was so low from CO2 build up and little O2 so I wanted them in tank.

I love my sea swirls, and would not be without them, great constantly changing flow, and you see nothing in the tank.
They are mounted with two plastic screws that hold them to the back glass. To figure how to connect to an acrylic see sea swirls web site, I believe the info is there, and they are great with answering email questions. I will try to get you pics. My sea swirls are on a closed loop, but they used to be on my return pump, and I feel that was enough flow. My sea swirls run on a Velocity T4 , figuring my head loss I believe they are pumping a combined 1000 gal/hr, and my return pump is pumping 600-700 g/hr for a total flow of 1600-1700 / hr, I think the 1000/hr is enough. ARe two what enough? Two sea swirls? If so yes, but you need a pump that can mximize the flow threw them, 400 gallons each for 800 total, and the overflow should handle it.So figure your head loss and find a pump that willpump 800 g/hr at your head loss and you will have nice flow . If you need more in the future add a closed loop.

Here is a pic from this morning showing the clams placement.
When I got home this eve the clams were all still where I placed them :)

Tonym10... the last picture is not showing for me. Just the little tiny box with a little red X in it.
My wife has already told me no clams for my tank because she has seen the prices for them at LFS (about $75 to $100)
Maybe she would let me order one from Phishy? ;)

The last pic is a red x fr me too, I do not know why that one isnt working pbase must be having problems again
