A pic of my 75 g today 1 year details.

The fish were entered in this order: 1st the three firefish together, then the yellow watchman gobie, then the pair of maroon clowns, then the naso tang, then the mandarine ,then the yellow longnose butterfly. The time spread was aprox a month apart each. The naso tang is not the slitest bit bossy, she is my favorit fish, the only bossy one is the female maroon clown.
I did not place them in the tank in that order for any special reason, other then that was the fish I liked at the time when I bought them.
 
Sounds like all went well............I have a Powder Blue , 2 Clowns and 1 Blue spot Goby. Next month I would like to add a Yellow Watchman, I'm hoping all goes well.
I love the Naso's though. I'm trying to find a Yellow Watchan that's at least 3" I'm having trouble finding one around here.
 
The Longnose is doing great, the first 2 days I had him he didnt eat. But then he started to eat phytoplancton, then couple days later flake food, now he eats everything, he also eats from the seaweed clip I feed the Naso tang, the longnose does everything the naso does, they are always together.
 
I got two new corals from Dr Mac today. Another Staghorn , a bright green one and a Pavona. Here is a pic of the left side of the tank where they are, I moved the pink birds nest to the other side of the tank. I like this set up much more
The staghorn is the one in the back left, and the pavona is the bright green thin flat verical more in the front just behind the pink monti digi.

Your corals are beautiful. Good luck and let me know if you ever find the need to frag out any...since you're in PA.
 
Thanks. I can't wait till I have to frag because they are getting too big, maybe in a year. One of the Staghorns is below a sea swirl, so I cant wait too long on that one.
 
I just got my GEO Calcium Reactor and Co2 tank and everything else that goes with this, cant wait to set up my reactor,I still need to fill the Co2 thow.
 
Sweet! I would think that with VHO, they shouldn't grow to quickly, but you never know. I finally am getting my 36" T5's and they will be here early next week.
 
What lighting do you have now RJ?
Before I started this I thought I would not be able to keep much with VHO, but so far the not so demanding light corals have grown faster then I expected, the LPS and monti's. So now I am giving some SPS a try, I have taken pics of each one so I will be able to document growth. Time will tell, but I really like my tank set up now with the new corals. I was wrong when Igot home I didnt get al my boxes for the Calcium reactor, I got a 400watt MH light for plants that I plan to overwinter indoors.
 
I have the 24" T5 lighting that was on my 29 gallon tank. That is why I went with the 55 gallon 3ft tank, so I could use my lighting until I could afford better lighting. I was going to go with the MH/T5 setup, but it is just to expensive and since my tank is doing well with T5's, I figured I would just get the 36" T5's to cover my tank end to end and it should do just fine. Plus I only replace 125 dollars worth of bulbs every 15-18 months instead of every 6-8 months.
 
Looking very nice! I like the colors of your corals. I have to agree with RJ though; a full tank shot would be nice :).
 
it may have been asked but didn't see it. Your picture quality is awesome. Please share what camera your using and if you are using any special settings. My next digital camera will be the one you have! :)

Tony, You have a great lookin set-up. I am looking to start a tank with some fish and reef, mainly fish but eventually I will probably go Reef. I bought a 75g tall with the build-in overflow. I'm planning of gettng some live rock and sand. What type of equipment would you recommend for my first tank and also, how would you recommend I initialy cycle the tank. Thanks a lot.

My camera is a Nikon D100. With variuos leneses, depending on what I am doing. But the results are obtainable with other cameras. It is just a matter of learning your camera and photography and especially white balance with digital, then how to process pics for the web or print.
As far as special settings , I shoot pictures using RAW , I use a preset white balance when taking the tank with no flash,I also use a tripod if I am not using a flash. After doing any adjustments on computer to the RAW file I convert it to jpg, in the size that I will use for the web.

Tony - Are these ALL considered hard corals? Are there any that you would consider a good started coral?

What does your longnose butterfly like to eat?

I have a CCB that doesn't seem to be eating well at all. I tried Brine (live, frozen and gel) live clams, mysis shrimp, formula 1 and 2. I tried feeding him with a dropper so that the food floats only in front of him and he just puts his nose up and swims away. I have had him for 3 weeks and he seems healthy otherwise,

I am afraid I am going to lose him....
