I felt the hob worked well on my old sump. My chaeto grew well in the old one, it still isn't growing as well in the new one.
You may need to replace the bulb, mine slowed down a lot but after putting a new bulb over it, it's all good now!

I tried that, will need to give it more time and see how it grows. My chaeto didnt look so good , so I removed it and replaced it with new chaeto, nice bunch. It fell apart into i million 1/4"-1/2" pieces, like it got brittle or something chewed it up, within a few weeks. I added a bunch of pods when I added th chaeto, maybe some of them were chaeto eaters?

I am now starting a 15g cube for my office. I have the tank, stand , pumps , canopy, just need a couple fittings and I will be running my first nano.

Today I found my GEO clium reactor leaking at the main O ring. It has been running for almost 1 year, and I havnt had to replace the calcium inside it yet, although it was low and ready to have more added. I wonder if the O ring starts to leak after so long from salt build up? Its working ok now that I cleaned it up. I also found my water level in sump 1" low, I thought it was from the leak. But it was from my litermeter pump (topoff pump) , it finally needed to be cleaned after 1.5 years. I have another newer litermeter with aluminum heads that is used for water changes, that is only 1 month old , will see how long the new design goes between cleanings. The new design is quieter and real nice looking.

I had to post pics of my first acans. They are in my 15g cube not my 75 g.

Hey Tony. I have been watching this thread for a long time and it is actually bookmarked on my browser. It has been the inspiration for my 75 gallon reef. Thanks a lot and good luck!

Thanks 143 , I just added a frogspawn near my hammers and also moved my torch close to the hammers. I hope they are ok touching each other. The frogspawn I ordered got delayed in shipping by FedEx for 4 days. But it seems to be ok.

You know what that means.... NEW TANK PICS!!!!!! How are you likeing the MH compared to VHO. I am using 660 Watts of VHO on two icecap 660s. I want MH but I don't want to loose the coarline that hase encrusted almost every crevice on my LR. What do u think?

Yea more pics when the frogspawn fills out, it was stuck in shipping for 4 days on FedEx truck. But it is doing nicely.
MH does stop the coraline, I have big pieces falling off my back and side glass, but the rocks seem ok. I like the shimmery look of the MH light better, and I like the lighting better, my zoos dont look as nice under the mh, but other then that my flowerpot is a darker green, my open brain is darker, and my torch that never grew more heads in the year and a half that I owned it has now more then doubled. My hammers always did well, but the torch never did.

Thanks
I just got a frogspawn. I moved my torch over beside my hammers and I put the frogspawn right between the hammers and the torch. They touck each other and all are getting along.
