A pic of my 75 g today 1 year details.

Yes I remember back when you said your coraline was falling off after you added the MH lights. I want to grown coraline in my tank because I am just starting out and of course everyone wants it when they dont have any. We will see if I still want it later once I have it everywhere.

I think it is 48x18x20 , I wish it were wider, and longer now, but I always wished it was wider. It is an Oceanic 75g, whatever dimensions that is.
This morning my T4 closed loop pump was calcified up and stopped. So I had to change that again, it lasts about 6 months between needing to be cleaned with muriatic acid.

Ugghh. I am not looking forward to taking the pumps off the tank and running them in Vinegar or Muratic acid. What a pain. How do you have it set up to do? Do you have a seperate tank or container that you use? Or do you just soak the pumps internals in the solution?

I gave up on vinegar. That took soaking for days. I use Muriatic acid diluted one to one. The calcium comes off in less then one minute. I have my pumps set up so they are easy to remove. Then I take the wet part of the pump apart and soak the parts in the muriatic mixture , takes less then one minute soak, then I just rince the parts, and put the pumps back together. I have two of each of my pumps , so I can remove the calcified and replace it with a cleaned pump right away, then clean the removed pump when I have time. My return pump (Iwaki 55rlt)has not shown and signs of calcification. Its just my mag5 and T4.

Hmmm interesting on using the acid diluted with water 1 to 1 for quick decalcification. I have heard of others doing this but I did not know that it worked so quickly.
You have a back up pump for both the Mag and the T4? Really a smart idea in case one goes down and you need to get a new one to already have a backup.

Yes , I have a backup for both, the T4 is my closed loop pump, and the mag5 works my skimmer. I do not have a backup for my Iwaki return pump, but it does not seem to get calcified. I opened it after it was running for about 6 months and it was perfectly clean inside.

Looks incredible for a 4 foot tank. Major props! I'm surprised how big it looks actually...

Tony, I just had a new arrival. It is a AGA 90g with MegaFlow overflow. I am going for a different look on this one and will start a thread for the setup.

I look forward to seeing what you do with it, I am sure it will look great.
What are your plans for aquascapeing ?

Aquascaping will be a larger mound against the back/left wall, a valley in the center and a small mound on the right still leaving room to clean the right glass. I am going to paint the back and left side black, the coraline algae will not be cleaned on them. I will be cleaning the front and right side of coraline algae and there will be a lot of room for the fish to swim.

I am hoping it will be sweet.

VHO were two URI super acntincs and URI two actnic white.
Now I have the two super acntnics with two MH. Most of corals look as nice or nicer under the new lighting , with the exception of the zoos, their color is nicest with alot of actnic. The MH lighitng makes it harder to get good pics, there is just alot more contrast from bright to not so bright areas, lots of blown highlights.

That will look very nice with the open areas. But do you think you will be able to have enough rock in there for bio? I think I first put 100 lbs in my 75, and it took up more room then that. You can always put alot of LR in sump/refuge to keep it open.

This may have already been asked and answered, but this thread is so long! :) Where did you get your HOB fuge?

I do not use the HOB fuge anymore, I built a fuge into my 50g sump.
But I got it on ebay, then I made changes to it.
