A Reef in the Sky

That's nice! are you planning to have a lot acans? Cuz you gonna have a lot open space to work with.

Love the "color sticks"... Since I just restarted my tank at the beginning of the year, my tank is full of frags right now that I got from other reefers locally, so now I just have to wait it out 'til my tank actually looks like a reef. Right now it looks like a pre-school for Acros :(

How long ago did you get the acros? They're looking great so far!

The aquascape is nice, clean, and minimal. I do love the island too! You mentioned swapping out the lights in the 3 and 6 position. What are you considering?

Loving it Bro.. The coral placement is going to be awesome for growout... It won't be cramped.. Keep up the great work!

Nice pieces you got there! Loving the islands more than ever. I want to re-scape my tank now...hehe. Great job man!

holey **** balls.........you got all that while I was away!? Geezzzzzzzzzz

Good job.....now for those Vortechs

Finally... SPS corals

Wow!!... 4 weeks already and I am amazed how simple the KZ method has been so far. The past 2 weeks have flown by so I wasn't able to monitor the water parameters as closely as I would have liked. Anyhow, that will happen over these next couple of days.

With the help of the misses and my trusty laptop, I purchased some SPS corals from Indonesia and have placed them approximately to get a feel before securing. All corals were dipped with CoralRX before entering the tank. The lights have been raised to help acclimatize the corals.

Water results before the Water Change

Temp 26.8°C
SG 1.023 / ppt 31
PH 8.21
No3 0 Salifert
No3 <0.25 La Motte
Alk 95ppm La Motte
Po4 0.01 Hanna
Mg 1200 Salifert
Ca 420 Salifet
Potassium <350 KZ kit

After water change
Temp 26.6°C
SG 1.024 / ppt 33
Alk 115ppm La Motte

Looking to increase SG/ppt over the next two weeks. Target is 1.025
The Alk is low and will also try to increase. Dosed 40ml Alk and 20ml Ca and this achieved an Alk of 8.0KH (Salifert) around 3 hours after. I will monitor Alk, Ca & Mg daily to fine tune dosing amounts.

Thanks for looking

Aquascaping looks awsome

Very nice! What are the dimensions of your overflow?
Hey Ricky, ... here's a picture of the dimensions. There was not much room to work with. The blue circles represent the sizes of the holes in the bottom glass panel. HTH's

Yep, Acans, Scolys and Clams. I love Acans, especially the Lord Howe ones... since I used to fly them from the island to mainland Australia. Unfortunately they are getting rather expensive nowadays!

WOW, another perfect example of LESS IS MORE aquascape. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!

Good to hear. No worries that it looks like a pre-school atm as it will be enjoyable watching them grow. I'm hoping to get my hands on some frags soon too from a local reefer. The corals I got arrived the other evening and I picked them up the following morning.
Here is a plan/idea of the scape that I created from some of the corals that were available. But of course, I completely changed the layout once I got home.

Cheers, less seems to be more nowadays?
Some of the bulbs are worn out because I played around with the dimming functions a little too much in the early days. Will still keep the same bulb types, just swap them around and replace the worn out ones. Thinking of the moving the KZ Fiji bulb into position 3.

Loving it Bro.. The coral placement is going to be awesome for growout... It won't be cramped.. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Jonathan. Been watching the corals closely the last 2 days plus taking pictures to record their progress. Thinking of moving one or two.

Wonderful!
