A Reef in the Sky

Cheers, less seems to be more nowadays?
Some of the bulbs are worn out because I played around with the dimming functions a little too much in the early days. Will still keep the same bulb types, just swap them around and replace the worn out ones. Thinking of the moving the KZ Fiji bulb into position 3.

Yes, I definitely agree less is more! I can't wait until your tank grows out. It will be even more beautiful. I run an 8x80w Powermodule, and have the Fiji Purple in position 3 with a Blue+ in 6. I really like the color it gives dusk/dawn. The Blue+ in both 3 and 6 was a little too blue for my taste.

Thank you very much. I will change the bulbs around as you suggested.
Does your perspex cover sag at the opening end? I was thinking of having a clip made to hold it up.

Thanks, will try it out.

Try quadruple post! :lolspin:
Just picked up your Flex PVC and extras pieces.... Lucky I bought a big suitcase

How high off the water surface is your light?
At the moment it is slightly higher than normal but I am aiming to have it around 6" off the water surface.

Hello V1 ... rotate, are new to the forum, but I follow your project for a long time! I wish you my sincere congratulations for the work and love that you are putting on this new tub!
If I may, let me ask you the reason why you have not added a calcium reactor (or maybe I missed something, if I'm sorry!)
See you soon Andrew

Any ideas on identifications

I picked up some more corals last weekend and re-arranged the others. Below are some pictures of the newly acquired SPS. Any advice or info on their placement would also be great.

Would any of you that are experts in coral identification be able give me the generic and scientific names of the following corals? Thanks in advance.

Coral A

Thanks for looking.

Wow, stunning! Regarding the plexiglass cover for the Powermodule, yes, it does sag in the middle, I assume from the weight. I previously used the smaller 8x39w fixtures, and those sagged as well. I was never, and still, not too concerned with the sag (looks-wise) because my fixture is inside a canopy. I think the sag helps dissipate the heat a bit better too.

Wow, Coral G is just plain sexy.. I think I may have found future coral porn!! Oh and placement for Coral D just can't be better.
Very Nice.

agreed:frog::frog::frog::frog::frog::thumbsup:

i would say that B,C and F are acropora millepora (blue milli, rose milli, and green milli), E looks like a tricolor valida, A i would guess is an acropora chesterfieldensis, and H and D are like turquoise staghorns (acropora sp?) and coral G i dont know but damn if its not stunning!
