A Reef in the Sky

This is officially making me hate my tank.

Not to mention making me hate my LFS...

my LFS is world wide corals so I am actually pretty happy with my LFS. I don't like buying colonies it takes all the fun and challenge out of it.

Awesome build!
Thanks man. Looking forward to bringing more pics to the thread soon.

I need that lifter!!
It is becoming popular. Have a look on youtube and there seems to be some more similar types out there.

I like the stand, I want one.
I looking forward to seeing if it works out.

yes the lifter is a tubular motor. Finding one is not hard. It's the one that has grooved wire guides, which is what we need, that is impossible to locate on a non-industrial scale.
I never thought of searching 'tubular motor'. There are many results. Cheers

Very NICE! I am tagging along on this one for a DIY version.
Thanks

I'm sure your tank is great. Mine has a long way to go though.

for some reason i do not have a "PM" button on these forums so I cannot request the info. Could you possibly email it to me?

lol... we are lucky here in the Asian region when it comes to corals and fish. But there are still challenges.

Awesome, you live near their shop. I'd like to buy from WWC's. I love their website and unique corals they have to offer.

I love the electric winch...awesome...
Cheers

Another update, been very busy this month but will finally have some time off. Hopefully the new tank will be checked in the next couple of days.

I was at the fish street the other day and saw this feeding frenzy, so I thought I'd share. Anyone for a Yellow Tang?

Hey, loving the build.

I grew up in Hong Kong and kept a fresh water tank. Used to visit Prince Edward every week...... I miss it....

Every time I go to HK, I always forget to go to the fish street. I'll have to PM you next time I go back to find out where to go.

This looks like it'll be a great build. Can't wait to see a tank under those lights!

Nice I say get the whole school, you don't want to seperate them now, :)
lol... wouldn't that be great.

Thanks

Preparation For Arrival

Today, I moved my existing tank across the room so I suppose you know what that means. :celeb1: I hope to keep the RSM for only 2 months until everything is transfer across then I want to sell it.

The move went well and was rather straight forward with no major problems.

I had to go out and buy the two large containers the other day to assist with the move. Also plan on soaking the new substrate in one/both of those containers for 1-2weeks before introduction into the tank.

Can you explain? I've not heard of that before.

It is to help reduce PO4 and NO3 plus remove dust particles so they don't go into the tank from the beginning.

I purchased a plastic kitchen strainer to help rinse the substrate too. I'll post pictures of this when the time comes.
