Just spent the better part of two evenings reading the 90 pages of thread in there. Great tank...frankly a dream tank I hope to have one day once school is done. Keep up the great work logging all this amazing information.
Sounds great, looking forward to it.
Guess what's in the box sounds like fun.

this is definitely the nicest tang collection I have ever seen. One day I'd love to get something this large setup. Have you ever thought of adding some large derasa or squamosas to help absorb up some of the nitrates? or a gigas if you could track one down.
It's not a surprise, my house sitter is feeding a little less while I am away and at this point in time I have zero Nitrates!
OK.. so... your house sitter held the line and put the tank on a diet... SO.... Your turn. (and mine too btw)
One pinch here one pinch there...
One cube here, one cube there....
Yeah... DIET... now if I can just do that to my self, I would be back to 110 pounds like when I graduated High School over 20 years ago.
Any thoughts as to what these eggs might be from. I shot this picture before I left. They are on the back wall of the tank.
I was thinking at first they were some time of snail or crap as no fish are staying near them. I have others spread out in other areas of the back of my tank too.

It is ok... I understand.
IDK if I'll be in Tucson again... been many years since I was out there.
Offer is open if you ever come back.
Snail egg capsules ... Neritidae sp. (Nerites) to be exact
Dan,
Just seeing the tragic news regarding fires in AZIs the fire close to you? Do you have methods to wet down parameter of home and saltwater reserves don't count
Be safe.
Thank you very much for the concern.
It is definitely a big tragedy. Being away on vacation, I didn't read about it until the very next morning and was deeply saddened. Prescott is 4 hours away but other fires are burning much closer to us. This is our Monsoon season and we get a lot of Thunder & Lightening storms.
It was 113 today and things are very dry. I do have the brush surrounding our house removed a few times per year. The issue we'd have with any fire is the wind. Our house is in a canyon and with any fire, the wind would send sparks flying. I have too much land to wet down if there was a fire.
Hopefully, we will never have to deal with such a tragedy. Thanks for your concern.
That's it!
Thanks! I had been looking at snail eggs but didn't think to look into Nerites.
