Hmmm... I only received one package from UPS and two others are scheduled for delivery today...

a small taste...

All of these are acclimation buckets...

Ummmm that is pretty sick Dan. To see all those boxes stacked up and you still waiting on another deliver is pretty much straight pimp. Then the acclimation drains to those buckets. I am not worthy of you.

I'm beat. I got all the livestock acclimated and put into their respective QT's and the Frag Tank for now.

Tomorrow I will try to get my hands wet and set some of my new additions. I will post some livestock pics in the morning.

First a few shots of some of my other deliveries...

This one was from Drs. Foster & Smith. Nothing too exciting, some new filter socks, a new Luft Pump for my shrimp tank, food additives (garlic, selcon, etc.) and some worm feeders. I make larger holes in them and will use them occasionally when I am in a hurry and just throw a frozen mysis or brine cube in them. I mostly use them in my Seahorse tank.

Genesis Renew

Genesis Renew

I can't wait to set this baby up. I really like the idea of automatically changing/replacing 7 - 10 gallons of saltwater daily, perhaps one gallon every two and a half hours, with water that I first make and check in my storage bin.

Unique Corals shipment

Unique Corals shipment

So I have been hearing for over a week that Scott Fellman at Unique Corals would be getting in a couple of large shipments of Bali corals and a big shipment of Aussie Acros!

On Tuesday, my buddy Dave emails me to tell me that he stopped by Unique and helped unbox the Bali shipment. A lot of beautiful mariculture corals. I got an email from Scott that night telling me he had a couple that he knew I would like and that perhaps tomorrow, we could "FaceTime" and he would walk me through the warehouse after the Aussie shipment came in.

Tomorrow never came soon enough. Wednesday afternoon I received a call from Dave and Scott, walking me through the warehouse. I felt like a kid in a candy store. The corals they received were nonetheless outstanding! While my iPhone was on FaceTime, I had Dave on the landline giving me great descriptions.

Let me show you some. These pics are with my iPhone under T5 lighting after they were acclimated and dipped:

The pics with my iPhone really don't give the colors on the corals any justice. I need to have Griffin come out and shoot the tank. My goal is to get these all placed this week!

Here's a picture of the corals that Scott sent me before they were bagged and shipped.

Those are going to be some great additions. I was in LA last week and spoke to Scott on the phone and was trying to get down to his location, but time didn't permit.

I was able to stop by Vivid Aquariums and see their 14 foot 800 gallon display. It was neat to be able to stand in front of a tank like that and see half of it lit with MH and the other half with Radions.

Achilles Update

Achilles Update

They are in the main display!

I ordered new acclimation boxes from my LFS two weeks ago and unfortunately, the plastic company making them has been as slow as molasses! Because of my livestock orders coming for FedEx Friday, I needed to do something quick.

Off to the Home Depot!

I constructed these cheap but effective acclimation boxes out of egg-crate. I made them pretty large, 26" wide, to give the achilles plenty of room.

They both appear to be doing pretty well. They aren't swimming as much in the boxes but both are eating. The other fish in the tank are pretty much ignoring them.
