A Reef Tank in the Desert - +/- 1,400 gallon system

I am speechless :eek2:
Looking forward to more pics and updates.
By the way those radions look great, sorry if you mentioned this before but did upgrading the radions provide additional color and/or growth?

You should get a few GHL mitras and do a comparison for the high end LED phanatics, just kidding

Dan your tank looks outstanding and what you've done with those fish so far is beyond what I thought was possible. I feel really really fortunate to have you in Tucson as a fellow reefer, and I'm excited to see what you'll do next. How's the Idol doing, still strong I hope?

Anyone care to guess what this is???

The divider from the sohal tank?

Damn you are quick!

The Sohals are together and getting along splendidly! They spent the entire day together without the egg-crate and haven't been aggressive to one another at all.

A terrible iPhone pic, but it shows them together!

Awesome news Dan. How long till they're ready for the display

Once again, you never let us down Dan.

Thanks guys!

Not for a few more weeks. I want them to be one of the last fish that go into the main tank. I still have a Clown Tang that has been in one of my other QT's for 6 weeks that I want to introduce, and then today, FedEx Friday, I got six, very, very, very special fish that were delivered to my LFS.

Friday Deliveries...

Friday Deliveries...

So it's been a stressful week!

Nothing to do with the tank, that has been my relief, my solace.

Monday was tax day, that is never any fun and I have had to make some unpleasant business decisions this week.

Well yesterday, one of the owners of my LFS called me and informed me that a fish I wanted was finally in stock at Quality Marine. The cost though was significant and given the expenses that I have had this week with taxes I said, "No thank you. Can't do it."

Last night, I was kinda kicking myself. Ordering the fish wouldn't change my lifestyle one bit.

You know how things are meant to be???

This morning I get a call from Justin at my LFS. "Hey Dan! Did you order SIX ________????" I immediately called the owner and was dumbfounded when he responded. "What??? They weren't supposed to ship until when and if I gave them authorization!" I certainly couldn't let them be put in the LFS tanks where they could easily die. Nor could I let them be sent back where they would surely die!

Take a look at the terrible iPhone pics of my six beauties!

My acclimation process took a little over 3 hours with these guys. I made sure that I had everything the same - temperature, same salinity, same PH... I don't think I have ever been this careful!

Please pray for my 6 Borbonius Anthias!
