WOW... that is horrible!!! I can't imagine how that could of been a malfunction, a TON of water would need to be changed to get to that level..

Having lost my tank once I can feel his pain, I think "and hope" he will be back once things settle down.

Yeah...he should really talk to some people who lived through the hurricanes and lost it all. There really needs to be a support group so people who's tanks fry don't break down. I know if all my stuff went, I'd freak out.

Thats why I don't have a single coral that isn't in at least one other person's tank. It not a matter of if you will have a tank crash its a matter of when. If it could happen to someone like Eric then it could happen to anyone.

Oh man that REALLY sux... All the time and patience down the drain. That would be really tough to have some nice big colonies die on you that you've spent years caring for. Wow thats just terrible. Oh man that just makes me sick.

I work away from home m-f and only see my reef on the weekends. There is nobody to check on it either. I have double and tripple redundancy on everything and a Neptune ACIII on my tank. I make sure everything is up to snuff before I leave for the week and say a little prayer every week. I think if I came home to a catastrophe I'd immediatley projectile vomit!!

This happened in his home, so somebody had to have added a ton of water. It would have had to be enough water that some tank water would have had to be removed and then fresh added. Unless his refuge is huge and underfilled but then he would have noticed it full to the max for a dilution of that proportion to have taken place.
I cant understand why someone would deliberately do that. It would make more sense if they just stole some corals. Gosh that is such a shame.

Hurricanes suck. I came home to find the second story of my loft had colapsed into all three of my setups. Have you ever actually heard your heart break? Corals dont seem to like getting dosed with cealing popcorn and fiberglass insulation. Nothing you can really do about it but deem it an act of God and start over. I did buy a generator for future hurricanes. The power has gone out for days so this is a must in Florida. Hope Jason comes to his senses. It will be a long, lonley life w/o reefing.
