A small survey: what fish are living ok with others of their kind?

Fish in general don't want 'friends': they want to own their niche and have all the food in it.

However, some fish will live in pairs or communities. So I'm asking: what fish do you have peaceful multiples of in what size tank?
Fish ...................Number ......................tank size
highfin goby.........3..................................54g
firefish .................2.................................54...with mild sniping.

i have purple, yellow, blue and kole tang in my tank they all same size came in the same time never fight good girls they all are

Which is a good point: note the size of that tank, at 360 g. Enough room. YOu can have fish fights among otherwise compatible fish if there's a feeling of scarcity.

Balckspot swallowtail angel pair. Surprisingly docile to each other. I had a pair of argis that were much more feisty

Pair of white tiger gobies. Zero fighting.

Pair of percs. Zero fighting.

Pair of green chromis. They paired off from a trio, and killed the third, as expected. They are sometimes snippy with each other...all sorts of weird ritualistic motions/movements....

I won't get into the anthias...that'll be a whole thread on its own. Suffice it to say, they can be kept in mutiples...with occasional snipping/chasing.

Oh, did you mean same species pairs or same family or genus groupings?

Yep, I'm meaning those of very similar or same... my highfins were unintentional. I replaced a fish that turned out to have sump-dived, and when brought back to the display, generated WWIII. Lot of posturing, mouth-measuring, fussing and nipping. this lasted 3 days. Fourth morning, thereabouts, they all emerged from the same burrow from the night before. And so they remain.

WHile my YWG if presented a mirror will nearly bust a blood vessel trying to kill that 'other YWG.'

Yellow headed jawfish, ten gallon, ordered 1 got 2. I suspect a M/F pair and they are staying in the same burrow right now. I only got them last week but they seem to get along so far. Only other fish in the tank is a saltwater acclimated molly. Tank is plumbed with a total of about 30 gallons of water.

I'll add neon gobies, green banded gobies, red headed gobies and yellow line gobies. I know they are all smaller fish, but I've always kept then in groups of 2-3 in tanks from 20-90 gallons.
