Good laughs Andrew!
Tank is simply stunning, as usual.
Thanks Mark, i must get a top down pic of that little golf ball sized acro now that it's had a couple of food dye dip treatments
Tank is looking great! Will you be adding any more rock? It was also nice to see your sump. A bunch of anthias swimming around will look really good. I can picture a group of sunset anthias, but any will do the trick.
Thanks mate, i will be adding another island so about 5 kilos more in the display and i want another 10 kilos in the sump. I have phos well and truly under control just with the bag of phosguard but the rock i have now isn't handling the nitrate load and the new sand is too sterile to be of much help. Everyone always asks me why i add the sand and put up with it blowing around. I want all that sand to become saturated with bacteria and the quicker that happens the faster i'll get the phos and nitrates balanced at a very low level.
The glass cleaning went from twice daily to every two days over the span of a couple of days - that's what i mean by noticing the tank 'click' coupled with a noticeable increase in the brilliance or 'pop' coming off the acro pigments. The nitrates are still high though and as soon as i saw the phos drop i noticed small areas of cyano appearing.
I've used Rowaphos for a couple of years and i find phosguard to do the exact same thing simply in a bag in high flow and i can buy it cheaply in any cruddy goldfish store. I don't trust the bag it comes in so i put the granules in my own 200 micron nylon mesh bag - biggles is a bit rough on his sump equipment........... :rolleye1:
Hmmmm, i went on a ramble lol........ yes i will be adding more rock is what i meant to say and i want more Randall's Anthias because they're pink against the orange Lyretails.
Stunning looking tank Biggl....Andrew. Whilst the Kevin attack is funny...I am disappointed that there is no video of Kevin riding the flubber cycle.
Thanks buddy, you never know what Kevin and i might get up to in the future. Dave at Deer Park Aquarium doesn't know it yet but Kevin wants to see the shop and it'll be on if Dave tries to chase him off the display shelving. Kevin likes to climb all over a LFS to get a feel for the place but some LFS owners take exception, being half drop bear as you know Kevin reacts badly to a broom and the word 'shooo'........... it's like waving a red cape at a bull tbh...... anyway the worst that can happen is Kevin gets banned and Dave cops a few stitches
Biggles, very nice corals"¦as usual"¦now a question: what's your water change frequency and how much? and how many LR have you got in sump and DT?
Thanks my friend, i haven't done one since the peninsula has been running but i'll do a 20% today and the same every two weeks. I use red sea blue or continuum salt as both mix close to the same parameters as i keep the system water.
At the moment i have about 30 kilos in the display and 10 in the sump. I plan on adding another 15 kilos or so. As you can see in the sump video i have a tunze 6025 keeping the flow around the sump live rock vigorous.
Night snap, check out the size difference between Goliath the giant stylo crab and Neville the regular sized acro crab who lives in the 'penthouse' blue acro.
My phone captures images at 7712 x 4352 pixels which is why i can do this
