A Splash of Color

Hey Andrew, All your corals look great. To the left of that rebel spy looks to be a little gem with pinkish tips, any wider view of that one?

Thanks mate, that's the cool aqua blue encrusting base of Matt's Madness......

Brightwell Replenish

Question my orders again Bulent and.................

i_zpsir4imfh7.jpg~original

That has clearly backfired on me. I wish Brightwell listed the ingredients for Koralcolor. My pink A. Millepora looks slightly pinker, but I have also noticed an increase in both nitrate and phosphate readings. I wonder if this product contains amino acids! I am closely watching cyano due to this suspicion. Have you noticed any shift in either nitrates and/or phosphates since you started koralcolor Andrew?

Thank you for your patience with me.

PS. I am not part of the rebel alliance. I just follow you master chief.

Andrew these are insane, the one to the far left glows so much in the picture it hurts my eyes! I always enjoy seeing the updates on this thread! Maybe my LFS will have some decent frags today, its been a while since I added any and their website said they got over 40 aussie mini colonies in this week...

It's all good buddy :) Nitrates have stayed around 0.02 and my phos is 0.024 on HR Elos but the glass needs daily cleaning so i'm guessing it's a bit higher. Don't forget i have 16L of matrix now for 600L water so between that and the sand bed i have lots of cozy places for bacteria - a lot more than you per litre perhaps.

Five days ago i halved the dose to 1ml per 200L and also suddenly increased the 2 x 400W Radiums photo period from 7 hours a day to 12 hours and have run all the T5's the same - 30 mins extra dusk actinics for the giggle value of course.
You would expect the corals to show signs of excessive light after a day or two of almost double the intense photoperiod but instead the alk draw rose another 10ml and many new growth tips have appeared on a lot of acros. Nothing has paled or darkened at all but as you can see the pigments are very bright and very saturated.

Tomorrow i'm dropping back to normal hours as i was just trying to confirm something about the koral color in relation to what it claims to do and i'm now pretty certain it does after that little extreme lighting experiment. ;)

For 600L actual water i am dosing 2.5ml trace hard every morning and 0.5ml of koral color with it - 3ml total of the 5:1 mixture. Nothing else but fish food and alk etc.

I have my fingers crossed for you that you score some nice pieces Nick :)

I don't call these anything............. i just look at them...........

No idea what the purpose of that is in this application tbh mate.

This last photo has brightened my day already. Thanks for the inspiration Andrew.

Your latest nitrate reading is really low considering that your previous reading was 2 ppm on 22nd Jan. Additional Seachem media you have added recently must have already had a positive impact.

Cheers

Andrew, it's just the lanthanum chloride that seems odd??
90% of those ingredients sound like what the hull of Superman's spaceship is made of....
Anybody have a link to that ingredients list?
Like Bulent, I couldn't find it..
Just curious to know where it came from..
Oh... And thanks very much, Andrew, for the orange bodied, burgundy polyped and mauve/blue tipped Acro shot with some flub somewhere in the shot...
Really helped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes i'm pretty certain the drop is just more of the matrix coming online so to speak as useful bio filtration media Bulent.

Any time you consider straying from the dark side Bulent i want you to look at the porn below - i am going to PM you in the next few days because you're a good mate and i'm confident that when i explain a couple of things you will not be rushing out to buy shares in any rebel potion manufacturing companies.........;)

Not really having any issues with any particular color of late..........

I need to text this to Dave since he talked me into taking it home - btw anyone who goes to Deer Park aquarium, make sure you ask Dave for the orange glasses to wear. You will want to buy every coral in the shop lol........ :)

WOWWWWWWW!!!!
To see all those colors right next to one-another is simply amazing Andrew! The color on each coral is distinct, and the contrast is phenomenal. The dark side truly has a handle on things it seems :)

Yeah it's a weird looking thing isn't it. It's pointing at my little firetruck frag........ the acro top right is none of your business so don't even go there.......

I am looking forward to receiving your PM Andrew. Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom and thanks for sharing your amazing corals' pictures.

I dose lanthanum chloride to lower phosphates.

Andrew,
forgive the repeated questions, but I'm on midnight shift for another week and just got up...I havent had any coffee yet, so my brain isnt functioning at 100% yet.

Did you guys add the Matrix because you were seeing an increase in NO3 and PO4 due to the increased nutrients/Amino's from the Biggle's Juice, or was there another reason to add the Matrix?

I know keep fish in the tank primarily to feed your acros, but could you give a brief list of the fish you have in the tank and what sort of QT you use when adding fish to your system?

I'm looking to get some anthias for my 120 reboot and I'm curious to see what you do for yours.

Thanks again.
