A Valida Lighting Advice Needed

Hi, I just got a large a valida colony yesterday. It came from a tank with t-5's. I have LED's.

I have it under an ecoray 112dx (not dimmable) in a 300 gallon tank. Because it isn't used to the light I placed it half way down the 30" high tank and put 2 layers of window screen over the top of the tank to reduce light. Is this sufficient? How long should I wait before I become concerned if the polyps don't come out? Thx.

Just start it off on the bottom of the tank. (sand) Give it two weeks to adjust to your tank and you can start moving it up to the final spot. I don't like putting screen over the tank because your just going to mess with the other corals in the tank that have already adjusted to it.

Thanks for the feedback. I moved it to the sand. It looks like a couple parts have turned a bit brown. Hope that will work.

The tank is 5'x36"x30" 300 gallon. The tanks flow is a 1900 gph return pump and 2 Tunze 6105's rated for 700-3400 gph each. They are currently on pulse mode at 30%-60% varying speeds at 4 seconds pulse. Is flow for the tank good?

I think most sps like good current. I shoot for around 30-40x the tank volume. My 90 gallon has around 3000-3500 gph not including my return pump. Just enough to have the polyps on my sps move.

Got any pics? Careful with the validias they are a pest magnet. Most people I see that don't know they have pests have validas and that's the coral I see them on first. Can't help with the led thing sorry.

Here are pics. I'm a terrible reef photographer- with my iPhone and camera.
