A very large aquarium in a very small condo!

Your tank is BEAUTIFUL! Your new coral frags look great.

Do you "epoxy" them down when you place them in the tank like that? Are they going to be in that position long-term or do you plan to relocate them as they grow out?

If I make a frag, I super glue it to a plug.
The Frag plugs are held in those ceramic fake rock till the frag is completely encrust around the plug or starts to grow really large.
Than I drill a hole into a small piece of base or live rock and epoxy the plug into the rock. It look fairly natural.

I will take some photo of this possess and post them.
I have had to remount about 10 frags so far.

the tank was cycled for two months
It has had fish & coral in it for a month.

I've been working on the ship now for a week, and I'm already counting the days till I can get home and work on my tank.
Unfortunately I still have 7 more weeks left on this hitch.:thumbdown:
Being stuck on a ship off the coast of Brazil doesn't stop me!:beachbum:
I can still surf the net & buy new corals :celeb1:

I found a group of one of my favored corals online the other day.
These coral are one of the big reasons I built the large cave.
I found & bought 5 Rhizos
These Rhizos & a couple of Australian spider sponges will inhabit the floor of the cave.

I only have vendor photos right now & will have to wait till March 22, 2013 to receive the new additions.
Misery loves company, so you can wait along with me.
Until March 22 to see the new addition in there new home.

It was listed as a Trachyphyllia radiate But it look more like a Trachyphyllia geoffroyi to me.

Rhizos are not on the endangered list;
Most came from Japan, but it is not allowed to ship coral out of Japan anymore.
Rhizos if kept feed are very long lived
On occasion some Rhizo come to market collected from outside of Japan or from private collections.

Yes I do get to see a lot of water :fish1:

Thanks for the information! I had looked them up as I love non-photosynthetic corals and the general idea was "nooooo".

I really like the colors on those, the ones I had previously seen (in picture) were always white-pinkish, but the blood-red you found are really impressive.

If you want to get a Rhizo, just do a Google search every week.
It can take months before you find one, but they do come to market every once in a while. Be prepared they are not cheap:eek2:

I would like to share with you, something I just found, that truly amazed me. :eek2:

I compared a photo of a frag that I moved into my new tank on January first of this year. As you know the new aquarium is lite by Orphek Nilus- Dim..
The frag had been kept in my old tank under a 250W 1800K MH light for six months.

I have Orphek PR156 XP + DIM Lights not Nilus- Dim.

Just want to be 100% accrete.

Had a problem with new chiller compressor that was just installed.
It went up in flames !!!!!
Called the company that installed it. As soon as they found out their was problem, a phone connection problems developed. Standard Peruvian warrantee, as soon as you make the last payment the warrantee ends!
Lost the Achilles & power brown Tanks & my Male & female whanabie Angels. On the bright side the corals came thru just fine.

Sorry about your losses Captain, glad it limited to fish and not something outside of the tank.

Can you get some kind of "yearly service" maybe? That might be more expensive, but if warranties are hard to claim... that could be a solution.

Sure anyone will sell you a yearly service contract with the understanding that they have no intentions of standing behind the contract.

I live about 60 miles south of Lima, I called 20 different refrigeration companies before I found one willing to come out and install the chiller compressor.
It's not like the US no one care about service or quality just getting your money & running, it's so bad they don't even want to drive an hour to rip you off.

The tank is still only two months old, we need to give the tank a little more time to fill in.
Plus; I still haven't figured out how to get those beautiful shots you see on other people's threads!
Everything is just a tad out of focus, I just can't get the sharp detail photo, I' m looking for, hopefully in time & with some more practice I'll get it
