A very sad day!!!

To start off, I had a dream last night that Jaroleto (Velvet Wrasse) jump ship and died. I didn't think nothing of it this morning until I came home and looked at my tank tonight. Then it suddenly hit me and I remembered what I dreamed last night so I started looking for my Wrasse. He was laying on the carpet dead....We had him for about 2 years or so, it was very sad losing him. He's gone to fish heaven..... I have never thought I would dream about my fish committing suicide, so this is a first.... Whacky huh?

Freaky story. Sorry.

I have a jumping fish story. Many years ago my daughter had a betafish jump out overnight. He was a stiff piece of fishmeat on the carpet. Not to be disrespectful, but I tossed the rigid carcass into the toilet before my daughter could find out that a formal funeral was not planned. To my surprise, the thing started to wiggle and swim in the toilet. I reached in and snatched him from the threat of the vortex. Unfortunately, despite my heroism, he died back in his own bowl later that day. Sad. Hope I didn't bum you out any further.

It's fine....Unfortunately his eye balls were dried up from being on the carpet all day and very stiff..... I could bare to look at it so no funeral either, I was cleaning bird cages so it went along with the papers..... I was cleaning bird cages when I looked up to my tank and thought about Jaroleto so I dropped what I was doing to look. He will be missed!!!!

Trust me guys, I really never thought about dreaming my fish suicide ever! I used to get that feeling when I was raising parrots years ago when one of my babies would die I would know right away.... 6th sense kicking in, but a fish??? I guess cause I was attached to my fish....

Sorry to hear about your loss.

One Saturday night around midnight, I was on the computer, watchin' tv and I heard this bubble like sound. I looked over at the tank and I seen somethin' fall off the arm rest of my recliner. I thought it couldn't be. I got up and turned on the light and there my clown is layin' on the carpet. I picked her up and placed her back in the tank. She swimmed back to her hairy mushroom rock like nothin' happened. I got lucky. I thought for sure she would be dead the next day, but she's fine. Any other Sat. night I would have been out.

ohh so you hulu?

ah man, that stinks! I had my first jumper last night, Niger Trigger jumped out, and one of our cats found it, partially ate it, and then laid it next to my wife's side of the bed. She wasn't very upset when she found it.

Fish are so weird sometimes. I lost one of my new clowns within a week of putting him in. I was messing in the tank and noticed he was suddenly gone and no where to be found. There one min. gone the next. I even cut the line under the house and drained about 20 gallons of water trying to flush him out of the overflow pipe to no avail. My overflow pipe runs about 20 feet below the house and then takes a 90 up 3-4 feet and another 90 into the sump so I figued he was stuck in the pipe but after all that work and mess he wasn't in the pipe and must have made the jump in the 1" crack where I can't get to in the wall. Oh well, I needed a union/clean out on the line downstairs anyways I told Cory!

A few days later me and Bill were looking at the fishes lonley mate and I swear he looked at us looking at him, freaked and jumped also right in front of our eyes! He made it to the overflow and I snatched him with a net! I am glad he jumped left instead of right. I need to put up a sheild on the crack side and on the overflows for sure!

On another story my blue spotted Kole jumped out of the 100 gallon rubbermaid on the garage floor and just by chance I had to run in the garage for something before leaving and found him totally rigid and pretty much dry. His lips were barely moving but no gill movement. I freaked and grabbed him in my palm and started fish recesitation attempts. I held him in my hand and swished him through the water colum and would give him a few seconds in front of a tunze and then gently swish him in the water back and forth. He went from stiff feeling, to softer, to real erect with spikes all up, to jerky a little, to looong story short ;) swimming out of my hand! He was banged up and I put slime coat stuff in but he healed up and is still kickin it as far as I know. He lived months after that and I gave him to someone to lighten my bioload. Weird hugh?

Hulu?

Also...

My 20 sits on a large tv stand. I was lookin' around the tank last night and found one of my nerit snails layin' next to the tank.

I was like oh well, don't know how long it was out. It looked dried up. I dropped it back in the tank anyways next to the glass. In about 5 minutes, it was back crawlin' on the glass.

When a snail has fallen on its back in the sand, my son puts a sticky note on the glass for me that says "HELP!".

HaHa, that's funny.

Anyone else have any problems with snails crawlin' out of the tank? I'm always havin' to knock the baby ceriths off the tank frame. The water level isn't even that high...

Sorry to go off topic...

We had a diamond goby jump ship when we moved into our last place. Brian found him laying on the carpet, dried and nasty. Still not sure how he managed to find the 1/2" crack to get out of, but non the less he sure found it... I think more often than not, those of us with cats assume that fish just die and get eaten in the tank, but I have a hunch that the odds have it that the little felines have a snack before we even know it... :)

Lots of interesting stories guys, keep'em coming!!!! I was a bit bummed last night even more so when my dog dragged me through the soggy grass with mud and there I go sliding and all four up in the air. So I'm pretty beat up. He just dragged me down the step backwards last week and I fell and the week prior to that he kicked me in the head so hard I tasted blood in my mouth and my head was swollen up and it still is..... Bad luck with my animals lately..... :eek2:

Almost 17 years ago when I had a fresh water tank. I had two large Oscars. They where larger than your hand. We had been at the hospital receiving Gods true blessing, our first child Dustin. Upon coming home with our new bundle of joy, we found one Oscar on the floor. The hood was knocked behind the tank. The other Oscar was at the bottom of the tank as if it was looking at the other Oscar in the floor. He had turned black and curled up. It looked like a big burnt Pringle chip!

The oscar was crying for his freind! :(
I think Mike has a husky? They are pretty high strung enerjetic dogs at least my mother in laws is!! Man he is wild to catch if he gets loose in the neighborhood!! Mike you need to introduce him to the dog wisperer... ;)
Seriousley I read a ton of reviews on the Cezar dog wisperer guys book and most folks say it was junk. I was reaserching dogs for a "ideal" house dog, you know, no shedding, yapping, biteing children, chewing up furniture, easy to housebreak and basically a neat fun dog with no responsibility from me as its owner and we decided to just get all 3 girls a "watch me grow" puppy from playschool  !!! It was the only dog that fit all my husbands demands for a housedog!!
I want a dog real bad but life is just to crazy right now to take on a dog and I learned the hard way if you don't give them your time and attention they can be a handfull. And Cory still has a bad taste and first dog impressions from our very bad choice in a English Mastiff As as housedog when we first moved to Nashville. He was such a baby to me and the kids but talk about a hunk of housedog!! I still miss him so bad :(.

Steve

Check to see if it has hooves. May be an I.D. error.
