? about a PFO ballast I bought

I bought a pfo hqi 250w ballast to run a radium but it time to change my bulbs and it limits me since my pendants are SE ,I tried running my 400w xm 20k on this ballast and it looks great ,I wanted to try the new reeflux 20k but should I get a 400w one and have the pfo ballast underdrive it or should I get a 250 and have it overdriven ?

Hi Mark,

I do not recommend trying to run the 400's off of that 250w hqi ballast. You can run pretty much run any SE 250w lamp off of an hqi ballast. Just know that it will overdrive most of them. The majority of the time when doing this you only see a decline in overall spectral life of the lamp, and not a bulb "burn out". HTH!
