? About Letting the Tank go Fallow

Hi All,

Despite being religious quarantiners, my husband and I awoke this morning to find ich in our display tank, likely carried in on a piece of baserock on an acro.

We know what needs to be done as far as dropping the fish into hypo and letting the tank sit fallow, but before we embark on this quest, I would like to hear from people who have done this and successfully eradicated ich from their display.

If you have had success with this, please share your story and let me know. Thanks.

I doubt they were successful with hypo. If you have ich in your DT with inverts you need to get the fish out and treat all of them in a QT and leave the display fallow or fish less for 10 wks. Treat the fish with cupramine or chloroquine phosphate but do your homework before using the meds

I know how hard it is to accept the fact that getting rid of ich requires a HT/QT for treatment and a fallow DT. But going back 8 years may be a new record. Click on the members screen name and you'll see he hasn't posted since 2007.
