? about thermometers

I have two digital thermometers that are giving me different readings. I want a good accurate thermometer, What should I buy, Thanks

There are others but NIST certified are the best.

Buy one more cheap one and average the three.
What's more important is keeping the number stable over great periods.

Those are a ways apart. Sometimes people complain over a degree or two.

Both values would be safe, and I agree that if the readings are stable to not be too concerned.

You could get a lab grade glass thermometer to really know for sure.

Exact temp is not important as stated above.
Electronic measuring devises can go awry anytime.
