It is right here!

I am looking for more detail info. I am wanting to know any special care, lighting, flow, trace requirments, water perams, etc.

Is there any place to get this kind of info? Maybe even any identification info?

Im trying to grow mostly LPS corals (acans and favias). Im going crazy trying to decide if should go with a single 250w MH lighting fixture OR 4-39w bulb HOT5 fixture. My tank is 48 gallons and is 22" deep. Any sugge

Acan Tips and Tricks

Lighting- Myself I have 1x400w xm 20,000k mh and 4x24w t5s. All URI super actinic. Ive had great luck with colour and growth with this lighting combo. Also I have seen many all acan tanks with just T5s and growth and colour are awesome. I just love the glimmer from the MH and you dont get the same affect with T5s.

Water Chemistry- (My Tank)-Salinity-1.026 Calcium-400 Alkalinity-10dkh
Magnesium_1450 Temp- 77. I have always done bi-weekly 10% water changes with IO. I run a 2 stage calcium reactor with zeo mag.

Flow-Ive found that acans puff up more in low flow areas but can do well in heavy flow.

Feeding- I feed ReefRoids and cyclopeeze mixed together in a glass with some aquarium water then just dumped in. Over the years Ive found that with spot feeding.... turned my fish into acan killers.

Many of my acans that were purchased as grade AAA colonies have shocked me with there loss in colour. On the other hand many grade A colonies have changed colour to produce awesome colours
you just never know. I hope you find this info is helpful.

I've kept mine in 72 watts pc lighting and they looked great.

Thanks northernreefer, I have 4) XM 250DE HQI and didn't like the way things looked. Just switched to 4) phoneix 250DE HQi and there is a huge difference. I am just afarid that I have too much light. What are your thoughts?

Everything seems to fine except 2 of my SPS seem to have burned a little. Looks like they will recover.

My attempt....

don't have pictures available, but I've got some new acans, around 13 of a variety of types/colors/sizes, that are adapting to my tank. They all looked fine for the first few weeks, but I'm seeing some of them close/receed. Parameters all look great, but I'm worried that the light intensity (Powermodule T5 light) is too much. they are all on the bottom, but some doing better than others. Has anyone else experienced the receeding flesh/polyp loss from excess light?

Nice salt creep. Nice fish selections as well, is that a mystery wrasse and helfrichi I see?

It looks like a Mystery Wrasse and a Purple Firefish to me. They are two of my favorites.

Thanks for the compliments..

Bradleyj- Im glad my tank has inspired you to start your own collection.

Clean up crew- I have Snails, around 6 green emerald crabs and 3 serpent starfish...
