Well...my acan dominated tank has come to an end.:( . Shortly after my tank was featured for TOTM I had a severe coral infection that knocked off 1/2 of my collection in maybe a week.:eek2: I tried cutting and dipping the infected Acans with no luck. Im sure the infection came from my latest acan purchase. The new coral was even dipped. 1 month later I had my calcium reactor fail and lost a bunch more.:uzi: I decided to move all my coral into a smaller nano and remove the 120g. I sure miss that tank. I plan on starting a bigger tank in the future with much more thought going into it. I'll be back...

Wow! That's terrible. What symptoms were apparent on the acans before they died? Just curious, so I know what to look for if there's an issue with mine. Thanks.

That sucks you had the best aussie tank ever, your tank was the reason I got addicted to acans good luck to you in the future my friend

It all started with a few Acans peeling. As always they were cut and dipped with TMPCC. The next day all cut Acans were dead nothing but skeleton. I did several water changes and run heavy carbon but the Acans were peeling faster then I could cut them:(. I took out the 10 remaining colonies and moved them to my nano. I think the infection was brought in by a new acan. It was dipped but for some reason didn't kill this bacteria. I guess.??

+1, your tank was my dream filled with beautiful acans. Sorry to hear of your issues and losses :(

That totally sucks. I lost acans due to heat before and got a JBJ 1/15 HP chiller. Need to start looking for nice ones. I thought acans were very hardy........... Cant believe a disease can just wipe em out..

Northernreefer0 I am very sorry to hear that. You had my favorite tank for sure I hope one day to have a tank half as nice as yours.

Ugh! Sorry Northern. Your tank was an acan lovers (my) dream! I am sure you will be back stronger than ever.

damn I was once in a situation like this, I had like 10 peices of acan small colonies about 2.5 inches-3 in diameter, various kinds, and what sucked was it was all in a nanocube in my saltwaterfish pet store where I worked at, and I was on my way setting up my new jbj nano cube and next thing you know, the tank with all my acans died off because of overheat in the summer. Lost about 300 bucks for those pieces and I got great deals on those pieces too from ebay back then, Your post is in violation of the terms and conditions of use of this web site and has been edited.
