Very nice collection. I have a few questions if you don't mind.

Do they need to be treat for pest before you put them in the main display tank. I also treat my sps for AEFW red bugs ETC. and if so what do you treat them with?

I see you keep them close to each other do you see them competing for space?

Thanks

I'm blown away. I'm really wanting to get into Acans. Can you tell us, All Delight, what are you water parameters? I've read every post in this thread but didn't see it.

And you say you only feed your favorites. I assume you mean target feed. What food do you use in the tank for overall feeding purposes? Is that a silversides in the one's mouth toward the beginning of this thread?

I like your thread my friend. I have seen this gentleman's collection in person and believe me, it's fantastic!!

I would like to comment on some earlier questions/comments on lighting and holding color. It's my opinion that reds don't like higher light, greens do. I keep my acans under LED with very good success and have had some intensely positive morphing under bluer LED. I have a couple of AllDelights pieces and they kept their colors from T5 to LED. When I switched out my Kessils A150's ocean blue (20kish) to a Radion I was having an issue with the artificial light program and went with the natural sunlight program at 40-45% intensity. This changed the light spectrum to a more 10kish range. In a month all my reds went to the orange to burnt orange side, yellows faded out, oranges became very bright and dominant in my rainbows and greens got greener. Additionally, the polyps didn't expand as much and were less puffy. Now that I have changed the radion program to the more bluer radiant program at 50% which peaks at 14K my colors are so much better and the rainbows are becoming more distinguished again in a week and I'm seeing hints of yellow again and purples are really nice. Plus my colonies are fuller with very good PE. I am hoping that in time my reds that became orange will become red again but if not I will add some red ones. So definitely in my opinion acans want the bluer spectrum of light for holding color and good polyp extension

I have a 6 bulb unit, but typically run only 4 bulbs. I ordered new bulbs and I'd to try all 6 bulbs going with 4 ati blub plus 1 purple plus and 1 coral plus.

I would add 2 ATI Actinics & run all 6 bulbs, the actinics will look great in that combo.

Good stuff A.D.

And here...we...go...

Thanks Rik. And very good info there.

I know where you can restock your dragon tails. Honest guy I know has an 8-9 polyp colony I'm sure I could convince him to cut it :)
