I will post a pic tomorrow of it and see what you have to say from what I can describe it is deep purple with blue streaks in it and the die off is due to the lfs that was housing it

-i would target feed mysis and cyclops once a week. The cyclops is high in HUFAS and might give it a better coloration.
And for the receding part, did something pick at it or sting it? Thats the only thing i could think of. If it was your water the whole thing would start to die not just parts.
Echinata it is. Just keep an eye on the recession...if it gets worse you may want to frag off the good parts. Also be careful what you put it next to...they can sting their neighbors as well.
