I need to move an eel from one tank to another, one tank is at 1.020 (coming up from a hyposalinity attempt) and the other the more standard 1.025.
Can the eel be moved over to the new tank at this time using a protracted drip acclimation? I seem to recall that lowering salinity can be done quickly (over hours) but raising from hypo needs to be over several days .. but I think this is when you're talking about larger differences like 1.012 to 1.025.
Species is a golden dwarf (Gymnothorax melatremus).
I'm thinking it might be OK just to drip him over an hour or so? Don't eels sometimes swim into rivers and then back out to the ocean? I know some do, although I highly doubt golden dwarf's ever do this.
