You'll be fine with a nice rockscape that is sparce as long as you have a good skimmer and because you are using a sump with rock in addition to the refugium. Regarding the high flow...you are correct the achilles usually reside in surge zones so yours should benefit from the high flow. Regarding the prazi...if you suspect problems then maybe I would advocate being proactive however I'd still like to be confident that the fish is eating well because if not the prazi will inhibit his appetite. Here's another question: if the LFS is known to have had problems...why are you purchasing from them?

I sort of went along with the "we can't control what our suppliers send us, but we treat for flukes" thing long enough. I haven't seen any side effects from Prazi, even on coral and inverts. Had to treat a DT when a trigger broke out in flukes and I thought the whole tank was infected. It did it's job though... that happened before I QTed as well.
Rock didn't cost me much, if I don't use it all that would be fine. At least I have a lot to play around with to get the desired effect :thumbsup:
Best of luck......construct the rockwork....let the rest of the live rock sit in a tub with saltwater and a powerhead. After a couple of weeks make changes to the DT rockwork if necessary, (adding or subtracting as you like)...then save some rock for future use and sell off the rest. People always want live rock.

I'm currently considering adding a AT eventually to my 150g (72x18x28) that I'm currently upgrading to from my 65. Would I be able to keep him in there as long as I have more than enough flow, and a long with keeping him well feed? Or would adding him be not worth it?

As the owner of 4 AT's, I would say no. The dimensions of your tank are not conducive to a good LT environment for an AT. PBT, yes, but not AT. They need more length to swim.
Just an update. My AT is doing great. Probably lost his scalpel, but he hardly notices. Went from nori to mini mysis, then formula 2. Now he eats formula 1 and anything else I feed the tank. No special foods for him. He's getting fat and loving life.
Just to recap. Got a small AT from Live Aquaria (not diver's den). Used the transfer method between two 30 gallon tubs for 12 days while he learned to eat. Used PraziPro twice during transfer method. No hypo, no copper. Then to a 75 gallon QT for 8 weeks, where he was injured while I was removing macro algae from the tank. Healed without treatment, then into the DT he went.
I can't praise the bucket/transfer method enough. Never saw a spot of ich on him. He was easy to catch in the small tubs in a clear plastic container. Worst transfer was from the QT to the DT because he was harder to catch in all that space with his speed and agility.

More room than a 6ft tank especially if he at the smaller end? I know he'll out grow the tank....

I'm more worried about your length/ width ratio... Up to you of course, but my experience is that they grow fast to about 6" and the much more slowly to 9+". They are very active and need as much 3D room as they can get...

...and taller. My big tank is 95cm tall (call it three feet) and my AT's use every square inch of the space; especially the big one. AT's are fish that once you have them healthy you do not want to give them up. The reason I have four, is that those who were failing with them gave them to me and I ended up with a group.
You'll end up spending a few grand doing a new, bigger tank just for this fish, so if you can do this in, say, three years time, I'd just not wait for the heartache you'll have when you give this guy to some one else.

I mean in 2-3 years I plan on upgrading again to be able to house him for a great great while it was the fact of making him the "main attraction" in the tank. So your saying if I am able to produce a bigger tank for him in 2-3 years then I am fine??
Any Idea what this is on my fish ?

ok just to update this thread as well. I spoke to Bob Fenner, and according to him, the fish has either scratched itself against something, or has eaten something off the rocks, and is having a hard time passing it .... sort of a gut blockage, which makes sense as the fish has lost his appetite as well.
I will not remove him from DT as it doesnt seem like a pathogen or an infection, and try to nurse him back to good health

I will update in the coming days how he does.Mine has never had Ich. I don't plan to add any fish without using the bucket method, and I dip everything else. My system was clean after a fallow period and treatment of my other fish before he was introduced. Ich does not have to be a problem with these fish!
