Extremely difficult to keep. Every once in awhile, there's a specimen with the right genetics for tank living, but most of the time, they won't eat.

If you do try one, they need a lot of swimming space, good random flow, lots of live rock to graze on, and keep the tank well oxygenated:)

Oh wow that's suck :( ..
thanks guys ... LMK if you have one forsale .. not now.. in couple months or so.. :D

The worst thing is if you have a territorial tang (aggressive). Achilles can get stress and release ich so fast. If that occurs life span can be less than a week. Not recommended on 120g below.

Not even worth it Elite.

These fish need a big tank, very good water conditions, and tons and tons of flow. These fish are from heavy surge zones.

i have one.. they like high flow and rockwork that they can swim/ dart in and out in...

here is a pic of mine....

both achilles and chevrons are beautiful tangs, my girlfriends been asking me to keep an eye on both in case of tank upgrade..

achilles and PBT are infamous for being real fragile/delicate in aquariums. i've been looking for one under 3" (also near impossible..) for a while now so i can grow it out, but haven't ever found any.

if you don't mind a bigger one i think octopus gardens in berkeley has had an achilles for over a year in one of their coral tanks, colors are good, eats, and growing out nicely i'm guessing around 100 gallon tank.. they charge top dollar for their fish and owner is sometimes a bit tactless.. but they are knowledgable, can keep fish well, and get cool fish in sometimes.. only achilles i've seen in real life thats been alive for over a year in the 'less than ideal' 500 gallon tanks everyone says they need..

If you have a pool in the backyard just add salt and some live sand. :D

My wife will bury me in that thing before I can add any fish in there :(
