hey guys,
I cant really get a great pic of it but my achilles has a discoloration/growth of fuzz on one side of his "face" underneath the eye. Its def not ich, so I dont know how to treat it persay. The "dots" in the pic is just crap in the tank and not on the fish as I was just messing with coral placement.

The discoloration has gotten larger over the past week, from a little circle that was 1/8 inch to now about maybe 1/4 inch

He eats fine and doesnt show any itching/flashing against rocks. As a matter of fact, he recently started eating flake food instead of just nori.

I CAN catch him if necessary in order to do some dip. Below is a pic. Any ideas? thanks!

I can't tell from the pic, but "fuzz" usually indicates a fungal infection. There are a few meds available that contain acriflavine that should work. there may be something better, I haven't used a fungal med in years. I would never use a fungal med in the DT; you'll have to use your QT/HT. I hope this fish has a better diet than just nori and flakes. He needs meaty stuff too. Frozen mysis, enriched brine, Formula I &II, etc.

i understand what you are saying and i agree that he doesnt eat much of a variety but he eats what he eats. He just started eating flake after 6 months. He grazes constantly on the back wall eating the algae that grows there.

I tried throwing mysis into the tank and he grabs but spits it out at first and then doesnt even grab it after he realizes what it is.

By formula one/two do you mean frozen or flake food?

thanks!

I know flake food is OK, I never feed it though. just too much waste. I prefer pellets. Yes, I mean the frozen Formula I & II. I probably have a dozen frozen foods in the freezer and feed some of them daily.
