Anyone know about these guys? I did a google search and found a guy by the username "iris" in germany who's breeding them but that's really about it.

What do they eat? Can I get them anywhere in the US? Maybe a website anyone can recommend? I'm thinking about getting a couple babies for my 15 gallon and then moving them into my 90 gallen when they outgrow it.

Cool, thanks! :D

That link is pretty helpful. Now...

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? Are they hard to keep, or are they easy?

I have 2 they are easy to keep will eat anything offered and one even eats my majano slowly but he does eat them. The other one nips my leather corals not to the point of really hurting the coral but you can see nip marks.

:D That's awesome to hear! I've been looking into getting a couple but I didn't really know anything about them. Did you get yours through an lfs or online? I haven't been able to find them except on this website that's based out of the netherlands... and I'mnot too comfortable with shipping them overseas.

I used to catch small ones while seining for shrimp in the tidal marshes of No. Carolina.
I would guess that they have a large distribution, but obviously the ones I caught weren't reef fish.

Oh... interesting... well I'm in Indiana... can't really go out to the tidal marshes to catch them O_O. Any websites that might sell them?

I bought several a few weeks ago, but something went wrong and the entire group that came into my LFS didn't make it. I now have five more that are in QT. I'm trying to replicate Iris' success.

So, I can't give you much info now but I can cheer you on! They are fantastic looking fish.

Good luck!

Yeah, I saw a little bit about that in your big build thread, but I when i read that they were starting to drop like flies I was like a bit discouraged... I really wanna see if I can get some little babies to start out in my 15 gallon... that I'm using as a little fuge, and then when they get big they'll go into my 90 gallon.

I'd really prefer to get them from the US just because I don't want to lose a fish like that... I hate it when little animals die :-(

It looks like it was a problem at the LFS. He said the wholesaler didn't have any other reports of these sorts of problems. The owner believes the problem might have been a contaminated baster used for feeding those fish. So, hopefully the problem will be solved.

Now, if I lose them all again....
