Acro Tables

Here is my table acro of 6 years stretching over half of my 4 ft tank. Id still not confirmed possibly A Branchi or A Stoddarti. Some progress pictures from May 2006 to April 2011.

Nice coral tlwong great progression shots. The lighting in all your shots seems to look very consistent what are you using for lights?
Any tips on keeping one that long?

thats one beautiful table

Great corals guys! Keep them coming! I'm impressed/surprised how many people have such large pieces. I'm not gonna lie I expected more frags lol

Thank you for the kind words. The 1st two pics were taken when I used 2x 250w MH 14000 BLV bulbs & the last 4 under 7xT5HO 54w with 4 ATI blue plus & 3 ATI aquablue special. The table is lucky to have located right in the centre receiving uniform lighting & plenty of random flow. Growth is also attributed to adequate levels of Ca, Mg & Alk plus zeovit supplements especially potassium iodide flouride & coral vitaliser.

Congratulations!

Keeping a coral for so long it´s really impressive, especially a rare one like that table.

Thanks. The bad thing is that it has grown so much that trimming or fragging is a problem. You just don't know where to cut so as not disrupt the table configuration.

Bump. I'd like to see more tables with names and pics to aid in my next tank. I'm going to do a pillar of tabling acros and a pillar of plating montis. Nice tables everyone!

this might be a tiny bit of a random question but do we have the ability to control the way these tabling acros do so? for example i see some that go upward against the rocks but that might be because of the aqua-scape or is it a standard for tabling acros to expand outward instead of upward

yeah, i gues a problem with table is you can't frag them, lol.. It would look odd after fragging, since it will ruin the round, circle form..

But I wonder who dont mind such a problem.. heheh..

Dont know if this count as a table, ;)

I've seen a YouTube video before where the person takes a little hand held saw and cuts a a nice rounded shape off the mother colony, then frags what comes off into smaller pieces so he doesn't lose te table shape.
