A bit of bad news to keep me on my toes. I got home from work on sat as i first set eyes on the tank i knew something was wrong... Checking the tank, I notice that both my shrimp have died... wierd, maybe a water quality issue. Then I realise that some fish are missing. Two glass cardinals and a flame cardinal... WTH... Then I see my rabbit fish has these scratches all over his body as does the yellow tang. I thought maybe they had a scrap but it didnt look right. I see the tri color wrasse come out of hiding and he has a patch of white stuff on his head. That is when I realise that the tank has been infected and my guess is marine velvet. Emergency waterchanges were performed and the sumps cleaned meticulously.
This am, more deaths.... My rainfords goby is dead on the sandbed and the tri color is MIA. Also the yasha haze burrow looks abandoned... Im feeding more now and soaking the food in garlic to hopefully boost the remaining fish's immune systems but I fear it may be too late. This disease moves FAST. I'm totally gutted right now, Ive lost all the wind in my sails. The only thing I can think of is the pair of clowns I added earlier in Jan that mysteriously disappeared after 4 days in the tank. They must have been infected...
On a positive note the corals look good. I suppose at the end of the day I still have that.
Oh and GFO is back online again. I dont think I will ever run the tank without it again.
