Acropora Sammy?

Just bought a frag of acropora advertised as a sammy. Trying to identify it but don't know what sammy is short for. It is green and kind of has the staghorn bumps on it. Also what does the Sp. stand for in Acropora Sp.

Acropora Samoensis

Sp. I always considered "Sp." short for "Species" and used when they couldn't figure out the species of the Acropora because there are a TON and hard to id. It is used as a general catch-all nomenclature.

Its like saying Chevy Automobile rather Chevy Car or Chevy Truck.

I could be wrong though
