i was just wondering if anyone has gotten weld-on 3, 4, or 16 locally before? if not where are good places to order from online (there are so many to choose from i don't know who to trust)?

thanks

josh

I got weld on #16 from Dan (Salty critter) at the cleveland frag swap- I am sure he can send you some.

I have some of this if you'd like.

i was probably going to get a small container of each. i want to start working with acrylic more and test glue some scrap peices together to see how each one glues and finishes. i have made some smaller tanks and i know i can do better. i want to make a 40 to 50 gallon sump and have it turn out professional grade.

i know weld on 3 and 4 are similar. most people use one or the other depending on their elevation (like temps in your stove). if i am right i should only need 4 because 3 dries a little too fast around here. if someone could confirm this it would be appreciated.

#3 does dry to fast to get a good melt of the acrylic. It is fine IMO for something that is not going to hold water or pressure. IME/IMO

misled good call on total plastics. i was going to order online and instead called the local office to see if they had any in stock. their price is better than anyone online, including total plastics online.

Since you're building stuff, go down and pay them a visit or call and see what kind of sheets are in the shop for sale. Since they are a shop, they have stuff left over from projects. I got a pretty big piece of 5/8 inch sheet for cheep since it was leftover from a job.

yeah i am trying to go down tomorrow after work. unfortunately the girl said they would be gone by 4:30. didn't even think about seeing if they sold scrap. another good peice of advice.

thanks
josh
