Added A Magnifica Now Clowns Are Fighting

A little over 3 months ago I added a magnifica to my tank. For the first couple of days both clowns would go in the nem. Since then my female has become very aggressive towards the male. At one point it was so bad I almost removed the male but the aggression has died down quite a bit. Anyone have experience with this type of aggression after adding a nem and it taking 3+ months for the aggression to stop? Also my clowns were spawning before the nem was in there.

I am also thinking about adding a malu that I saw at my LFS. I was wondering if it would be safe to have both in my tank or would there be chemical warfare?

my clowns used to fight a lot when I had a sebae..the female would bullrush him whenever he went into it. Eventually, the aggression stopped. Does your male look like he's shivering? its a sign of submission. Mine did this for a couple weeks. Now they are spawning.

Yea, my male twitches every time the female gets close. The female doesn't only charge the male when its close to the nem though. The male could be in the far left corner of my tank and the female would charge at it from the far right where the nem is. I probably wans't very clear with this but my clowns have also been fighting for the 3 months I've had the nem. I just waited until now to ask for opinions because I figured they would fight for a week or two just like yours did.

It's her space and she will not share it with a lesser clown. Especially if it's a smaller mag.

she probably wont share it for a while. since they are laying they are well mated. look at it at night and the female might let him in it at night. i have a few pairs and when i added a nem a few wouldnt let the male in for a month or 2. he kept trying and after a while the female relented.
